Scruffs enjoyed the long weekend - waking up with a serenade for his favourite feathered housemate - Teddy.

I'm not sure Teddy appreciated the gesture, he is not a morning bird and I'd say tolerates the performance at best 😂😫

To be fair, Scruffs is pretty loud! 🫣

Pepper was like "I will not look at you mum!" - but is still as cute as can be!

I know her fans will be able to fill me in on the character on this week's crop bra - I picked them based on how cute the prints are and did not realise they are popular characters.

I was hoping to stretch her bra free time out by an extra day on top of the extra day she has enjoyed this week, but unfortunately she does like her food and it was becoming a bit of a battle to stop her extra snacking during our 1 on 1 scritch time of an evening - a little bit relatable 😂🫣

Today is a public holiday in Adelaide, so the feathered housemates will get a small sleep in before I wake them up.
It has been a busy weekend for me with 3 big toy orders on the go - but I do appreciate the extra time that I get to spend with them as I can slow down their routine a little bit.

Wow! I love seeing the support for our good friends at Budgie Rescue Wirral 🎉🎉
If you are in the UK be sure to get some hand made bird toys for your feathered friends via the rescue - and it saves you heaps on postage from Australia (which means a cheeky extra toy or two!).

There are still plenty of toys on the way as well!

Who doesn't love watching a budgie in a bath!

Pip loves her baths.....
George - well George wants to - but he mainly stands at the end, gets a few drops of water splashed on him and thinks that is a satisfactory bath 🫣

Just like a boy toddler, I swear 😂

This weekend they have had green carrot tops in their bath after I went shopping and bought some Dutch carrots for everyone 🥕

Sometimes they will get a bath of plain water - and sometimes I'll add things like parsley and rosemary, chopped up kale, celery leaves etc.

Gorgeous little Ducky and Alfie are enjoying their toys from a recent order!
It looks like they got the "Sola System" and the Bead and Straw preeners to keep busy with.

Both of these cuties are rescues from our good friends at Newcastle and Hunter Valley Bird Rescue - Ducky has a bit of a unique beak, but is quite keen to explore her toys 🤗

A huge thank you to their human for giving them a forever perch AND sharing these cuties so that everyone can love on them.

Little Peps got her crop bra off early this week - we have a public holiday on Monday, and I took an extra day off on Friday to try to catch up to life a bit.....

But it seems as though she has been fussing at some of her feathers 😫
It was one of my fears once Pepper was diagnosed and we started using the crop bra - that the bother and feel of it would cause her to start destroying her feathers.

I'm hopeful this isn't a long term thing and was just because she was irritated by her lopsided bra this week.

It is also a lesson for me - as annoyed as she gets, I do need to fuss around with them to make sure they are sitting straighter.

Pepper will be getting a warm misting later this morning. She has sooooo many floofy down feathers at the moment, so I think that will encourage her to have a big preen and get rid of some!

Willow was giving definite Godzilla vibes last weekend! 🐲🐲

He has the biggest heart of gold bless him - but does not realise his size and has no spatial awareness......

The way he was trampling through the wheatgrass was 100% him - best of intentions, but just not quite getting it right.
He enjoyed it though, and it encouraged Chips to investigate so that is a good thing 😉
