Hisses to Purrs Incorporated Hisses to Purrs is a street cat rescue based in Morphett Vale. We do not offer rehoming services or take on surrendered pets. We also do not offer rehoming.

We specialise in street cats and kittens in the Southern suburbs only (25 minutes from Morphett Vale). Hisses to Purrs was started to rescue street cats in southern Adelaide. We only cover the southern suburbs of Adelaide and do not take in cats or kittens from outside of this area. We believe that every cat deserves a chance to find the comfort of a forever home. Those that we cannot save, we’re

committed to desexing and vaccinating and releasing back to their established colony or to the area they are being fed so the spread of unsocialised cats and kittens will stop. Hisses to Purrs is committed to rescuing only street cats. This means that we do not take unwanted owned cats and kittens. We will however come to rescue any street cats if we have the capacity to do so at the time. If there is a street cat near you that needs saving, please contact us. We rely solely on the generous donations and adoption fees to do the work we do. We are a registered charity with DGR status and all donations over $2 are tax deductible. There's only 13 more days until ! Now is the purrfect time to make a tax-deductible financial contribution to Hisses to Purrs. No, we haven't spent hundreds of thousands of dollars - we're not large enough for that - but being so small means that even $2 is noticed.

We know we don't owe our vets money, we're not begging due to being broke... but we are constantly one emergency case away from having to shut our doors for intake for an extended period.

We're just 3 people trying our best to help as many street cats in the south. If every follower donated $2, it would enable us to be able to keep saying yes. If every follower donated $5 - this would enable us to not have to worry about if an emergency case came in. If every follower donated $10? Well this would enable us to upgrade our foster spaces and possibly say yes more than we can now.

If you've ever contacted us for help and we've had to say no, these are the reasons why. Without our community support, we can't grow, we can't upgrade and we can't say yes.

Huge thank you to Off Peak Market Co. for having us at the tonight! A huge thank you to everyone who came to see us too! We raised $332 between sales, donations and lucky squares to go towards our vet fees 😻😻 Thank you to our lovely lucky squares prize winner too for donating her prize back to the rescue ❤️

That was the last market of the month for us, but we'll be back at the twilight market on the 11th of July!

We know this little guy is very grateful that his vet fees have been covered in one market night!

🐾 If you've adopted a cat from us, fostered for us, or had us help with a cat in your street, you've seen first-hand what Hisses to Purrs does. If you've ever met us at a market, then you know how much effort we put into fundraising in our spare time. It's the last few weeks of the financial year, and we're asking for something we don't often ask for: your help to keep going.

We rescue street cats from around the southern suburbs. Within our 25 minute boundary, we've already rehomed 70 cats and kittens so far this year. They're cats who'd otherwise be left to fend for themselves, breed out of control, struggle and ultimately die cold and alone. Every cat we take in is one less adding to an already overwhelming unowned cat population in our area. 🐱

It's a small team (never more than five of us, and right now it's just three of us with two foster homes), but in just over five years we've managed to rehome more than 700 cats. 💛 Every one of those cats has a story, and a lot of those stories involve people like you. That's only possible because people chip in when we ask, and right now, we're asking.

We know feeds are flooded with EOFY appeals right now, and we know times are tough for everyone. We don't usually do EOFY posts like this. In fact, this is the first time we ever have. We wouldn't be asking if we weren't struggling and needing our community to have our backs.

Behind every one of those 700+ cats 🐈 is a foster home, food, litter, vet visits, and a lot of late nights from three people fitting this in around everything else in their lives.

Simba, Nala, Zazu and Zira are now available at Petstock Melrose Park!

These kittens were born in a backyard in Morphett Vales and came to us with worms and Giardia when they were 8 weeks old. They are all very healthy now and looking forward to finding their forever home.

I'm sure you'll agree they are all absolutely gorgeous and will bring a bit of fun and love into any home.

Adoption fee for each kitten is $230 which includes:
- Desexing
- First Vaccination
- Microchipping
- Parasite treatments up to the date of adoption
- An adoption pack full of goodies including food, toys, blanket and information pack.
