As many of you have seen snippets of through my page, I have developed a deep interest in pedigree research and using pedigree theory as one tool to improve the quality of my horses. I have been extremely lucky to have had Paula introduce me to the subject and mentor me for the past several years. I also purchased several of her super broodmares which provided a great base to start from. The evidence became very clear to me once I started looking at (hundreds of) pedigrees of top sport and breeding horses - pedigree structure matters.
Breeding horses is a slow process over generations, but I feel after only a couple seasons of really applying these techniques effectively, the quality of my foals is showing the rewards.
My passion at the moment is to enhance the deep genetic quality of my broodmares to ensure that future generations are consistently better at transmitting the qualities we are looking for.
I strongly encourage all breeders to consider educating themselves in this area (which includes genetics), and there is nobody more knowledgable in applying advanced pedigree theory to Warmbloods than Paula.
