This is your sign to invest in a comfortable and supportive bed for your pet.
❓ Did you know❓
Sleeping on a hard surface such as the floor or a thin pillow/carpet can lead to many problems in the future, both behavioural and health related.
Here’s 4 reasons why your dog should sleep in his own bed:
🏡 Having his designated spot in the house where to go helps with training. As dogs are territorial in nature, knowing where their territory begins and ends comforts them and simplifies their training.
🥱 Tired in the mornings? Sleeping with your pet may offer you comfort as you’re drifting off to sleep but studies show that having your furry friend in the bed with you leads to continuous micro awakenings, due our pets differing sleep patterns from us humans, which results in less deep sleep for us = further release of cortisol = more stress during the day.
🧹 A dog bed means less hair everywhere else; less hair on your carpets, couch, pillows, bed; as all that hair will be concentrated in one spot making cleaning and vacuuming quicker and easier. Plus choosing a bed with a removable machine washable cover means no more mud stains elsewhere.
🏥🩺 Lastly, but definitely not least: A bed helps support the joints and musculoskeletal system of your pooch, which in aging dogs or larger breeds is imperative for their comfort. Not being supported in the joints when they sleep leads to chronic pain which science shows is the number one reason of aggression and stubbornness in dogs. A comfortable dog is a friendlier, happier and smarter dog. ❤️
