Remembering the brilliantly tough WAADY, who supplied Shadwell its 900th UAE victory when taking the 2020 G2 Meydan Sprint for Red Stables. Consistent, gritty and versatile, he raced until age 10 for the team, always at a high level.

He retired with a rating of 107 at age 10, only 5lb below his career-high 112 (when finishing 5th in the G1 King’s Stand in 2016 for previous trainer John Gosden).

He came to Dubai in 2018 at age 6 and continued his classy form for 5 seasons, racing 22 times, winning or placing in 4 stakes and holding his own against heavyweights Ertijaal, Switzerland, Faatinah, Equilateral and Gladiator King.

All class and a testament to Red Stables excellence.

A little appreciation post for our G3 Burj Nahaar winner MIDNIGHT SANDS, who was a barn favourite and consistently gave his all for Red Stables & the Cool Silk Partnership.

Bred by the Niarchos Family, the son of Speightstown closely related to G1 Jacques le Marois runner-up Holocene was sold for $95,536 at Arqana’s 2018 Breeze Up Sale and made his first 3 starts for James Given in the UK, including a midpack finish in the G2 Coventry, before coming to Dubai and winning 5 of his first 6 races for Red Stables.

After a brief 3-race stint stateside with Brendan Walsh, he returned to Dubai and won the Burj Nahaar in dominant fashion, showing his true colours. An absolute force. Unfortunately, nothing went his way subsequently when finishing 8th as the favorite in the G2 Godolphin Mile.

He was one of the best 6-8f horses the yard has seen and will hopefully pass that talent along to his progeny. He stands at Norton Grove Stud in North Yorkshire as the only son of Speightstown standing in GB/IRE.
