This is the gorgeous little Pixie, who popped in to see Dr. Sergio for a recheck of her sore eye. We’re happy to report she was as sweet as ever and soaked up every bit of attention along the way!

Pixie has become a firm favourite here after just two visits! In fact, every time she walks through the door, you can hear little squeals of excitement from the team. 🥹

Yesterday Joanna, our incredibly hardworking (and very busy!) Relocations Manager, couldn’t resist taking a well-earned break from her logistics schedule for a cuddle with this adorable little girl.

We think it’s safe to say Pixie has us all wrapped around her tiny paws. 💛

Get well soon, beautiful Pixie—we can’t wait to see you again… although we’re not sure the team will ever stop fighting over who gets the first cuddle!

The tiniest patient with the biggest appetite.

This itsy bitsy kitten, just around one week old, is enjoying her very first bottle feed with Nurse Sarah. ❤️

Whenever possible, kittens should stay with and be fed by their mother—there’s simply no substitute for a mother’s milk and care. But sometimes, through circumstances beyond anyone’s control, kittens become separated and need a little extra help to survive.

Thankfully, this little one’s caregiver recognised she needed urgent support and brought her straight to see Dr. Caroline. While we were concerned there might be underlying health issues after she had been found alone, it turned out her biggest problem was… she was incredibly hungry!

After polishing off a full bottle, having a successful toilet break (yes, tiny kittens need help with that too!), she curled up into the sweetest, milk-drunk sleep. 🥹

It’s a wonderful reminder that acting quickly can make all the difference for vulnerable newborns.

If you ever find an orphaned kitten, don’t assume they just need food. Newborn kittens require the correct milk formula, careful feeding techniques, warmth, and regular toileting to give them the best chance of survival. If you’re unsure what to do, seek veterinary advice as soon as possible—we’re always happy to help.

A first for us….. A hopeful new chapter for Lynda. 🤎

We’re always proud to continually bring evidence-based, advanced medicine to our patients. This week marked a very special milestone as we performed our first-ever F***l Microbiota Transplant (FMT).

Our first recipient was the beautiful Lynda, a gentle Mastiff who has been battling chronic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) alongside pica—a condition that causes dogs to eat non-food items, often linked to gastrointestinal disease, nutritional imbalances or behavioural factors.

The gut is home to trillions of microorganisms that play a vital role in digestion, immune function, inflammation and even behaviour. In dogs with chronic gastrointestinal disease, this delicate ecosystem can become significantly disrupted.

A f***l microbiota transplant aims to restore that balance by transferring beneficial intestinal bacteria from an exceptionally healthy, carefully screened donor into the recipient’s gastrointestinal tract. While it may sound unusual, FMT is supported by a growing body of veterinary research showing promising results for dogs with chronic enteropathies, recurrent gastrointestinal disease and dysbiosis when conventional treatments alone haven’t been enough.

What many people don’t realise is the extraordinary precision behind the process. Donor selection is incredibly strict, with extensive screening to ensure only the healthiest microbiome is used. Collection, preparation and administration all follow meticulous protocols designed to maximise safety and effectiveness.

This is not a treatment for every patient—but for carefully selected cases like Lynda’s, it represents another exciting tool that allows us to personalise care using the latest advances in veterinary medicine.

We’re honoured that Lynda was our very first FMT patient, and we look forward to following her progress in the weeks ahead.

Meet the Team… Brad

Brad joined the German Veterinary Clinic family around eight years ago as a tiny kitten… and it’s safe to say he now owns the place. 💙

You’ll usually find him holding court in reception, happily accepting ear scratches from clients, demanding that someone opens the door (only for him to immediately want to come back inside!), or catching up on his beauty sleep in the team room.

While he may have perfected the art of being spoiled, Brad also plays an important role in our clinic. He is a constant teacher, and reminds us what our feline patients needs are.

As a Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic, we know that every cat has their own unique personality—and Brad certainly has plenty of his! He’ll let you know when he’s in the mood for affection, and when he’s busy supervising the team instead.

If you’re visiting us, don’t forget to say hello to our four-legged receptionist. Just be prepared… once Brad chooses you, you’ll probably be asked for a few extra chin rubs before you’re allowed to leave. 🐱

Madi popped in to visit one of her favourite humans, our wonderful Relocations Manager, Joanna, who is busy helping make sure every detail is in place for Madi’s exciting journey home to the USA with her family. ✈️🇺🇸

International pet travel can feel overwhelming, but seeing happy faces like Madi’s reminds us why we love helping families stay together, no matter where life takes them.

While she was here, Madi also stopped by to see Dr. Adrienn for a quick post-dental check-up. We love watching our patients bounce back with bright smiles and wagging tails after their procedures!
