Pyometra is a serious uterine infection commonly seen in unspayed female animals, especially dogs and cats. It can cause symptoms such as loss of appetite, weakness, vomiting, fever, swollen abdomen, and abnormal discharge. If left untreated, it can become life-threatening within a short period of time. Early diagnosis and treatment are very important to save the animal’s life. Spaying remains the best way to prevent pyometra and protect our furry friends from this dangerous condition.
