The 2025 Johannesburg Cycle Race takes place this Sunday, 26 October, and several roads around Johannesburg will be temporarily closed for the event.

If your pet needs emergency veterinary care on the day, please check the maps below to plan the best alternative route to reach us. 🗺️

😺 Meet Jasper, the legend of Fourways Vet Hospital!

Jasper came to us as a stray about 12 years ago, and he’s been stealing hearts ever since. 💙 These days, his main job is pet bed tester; no bed goes untested in our retail store!

He has a few favorite pastimes:

* Sitting at the front door, making everyone open it for him, then waiting to be let back in again. 🚪
* Testing all the chairs in Reception in the early mornings. 🪑
* Giving ICU patients “positive healing vibes” from his favorite cot-staring spot. ✨

Life hasn’t slowed him down. In 2023, Jasper lost a leg after an unexpected dog encounter, and in 2025, he had to have his left eye removed due to melanoma. But nothing stops him from ruling the practice, supervising Reception (sometimes from the keyboard 😹), and keeping everyone entertained.

On chilly days, you’ll find him tucked under his blanket in one of his many beds, soaking up love, treats, catnip, and toys.

To us, Jasper isn’t just a cat – he is family and the heart and soul of Fourways Vet Hospital. 💙

Meet sweet boy Rupert! 💙

Today was all about his smile. He came in for a routine dental check and cleaning, and left with sparkling teeth and a wagging tail. 🐾✨
