Hello 50 Shades Suppawters.
Yvette Wilde and I have been overwhelmed by the stories and support the 50 Shades 2022 Calendar project has received.
I loved reading all the dog and cat tales. My heart felt full and happy after reading about how you opened your hearts and homes to the many animals in need. How very, very lucky they were to cross paths with the human angels and heroes who contribute to this incredible community.
Some of you know me, but for those who don't, I'm Colleen Mulrooney, I'm a pet portrait artist and graphic designer, but I'm an animal lover, first and foremost – I have been since forever. Yvette and I met about 300 years ago when she commissioned a portrait of Roland, her daughter's pony, from me.
I've always wanted to use my creative skills to support animal welfare, so I was thrilled when Yvette agreed to my calendar idea! I was over the moon when I heard that the printing would be sponsored – thank you Charmaine Erasmus!
Thank you to each and every person who shared their Rescue's story, who shared our posts and who enthusiastically encourgaed their friends to vote.
All this effort has resulted in raising 50 Shades' profile, I believe it's highlighted the plight of Rescue animals and you've all inspired someone somewhere to hopefully open their heart and home to a homeless furchild.
The aim of the 2022 Calendar was to RAISE R75000 to sterilise and neuter as many animals as possible. Each recipient will also be deticked, dewormed and defleaed. All the money from calendar sales goes directly into the 50 Shades' vet account (PLEASE REMEMBER TO ADD THE 50 IN YOUR PAYMENT REFERENCE!).
And now for the COVER REVEAL *drumroll please*
There were some well-suppawted Rescues who missed being a Pin-Up by a few votes. They've been allocated a spot on the front cover! We'll be revealing each of them on the remaining days in the run-up to our Calendar launch on Sunday.
Stay tuned to see if your furchild is one of them.
If this calendar had a centrefold, it's spot would've been filled by our beloved OUPA. He graces our cover with his beautiful spirit. Come and meet him on Sunday – I'd love to meet you too!
