Greyhound Welfare South Africa is a non-profit Company NPC (2017/2534400/08) that rescues, rehabilitates & re-homes abused, neglected, abandoned & confiscated greyhounds across South Africa. GWSA VISION:
To help all our rescued dogs the chance of a full physical and psychological recovery, allowing them to live out the rest of their lives being loved, happy, healthy and free from harm. CONTACT:

WHAT WE DO:
•Save and rehabilitate injured greyhounds and whippets
•Find rescues good homes and assist with adoptions
•Assist with sterilization to prevent unwanted litters
•Provide basic veterinary treatment and care including inoculations, flea and tick treatment and deworming

WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP:
•Provide a good home for a rescue by adopting
•Financial donations to help with veterinary expenses
•Donate food, dog beds, blankets, collars and other pet accessories
•Offer to foster a rescue while we find them permanent homes

Kicking off our talks for 2026 is the wonderful Tracy Simpson who will be sharing all things pet and aromatherapy related. Join us on 14 March at 10h00 as Tracy delves into the fascinating world of aromatherapy and learn more about the benefits to your beloved companions.

Cost is R50 per person and all proceeds go to Greyhound Welfare SA.

Lucky Lucy was transferred into the care of our vet today. She was surrendered to the community service vets in Limpopo after breaking her leg a week ago. The owner tried to “fix” it himself. She will be operated on on Monday morning and will probably need amputation due to severe infection. (Note this photo was taken as we transferred her to the vet kennel before bedding was added to provide comfort )
