Help Us Feed the Voiceless in Helderberg

Recently, I found myself involved in a spay and neuter initiative for cats and dogs in the Morkels Cottage community. What I saw there broke my heart. So many animals—thin, hungry, and desperate—yet still loved deeply by the people who care for them.

The reality is harsh: these families are struggling. Many of them can barely afford food for themselves, let alone proper nutrition for their pets. And yet, despite their hardships, their love for their animals is strong and genuine. For some, their dog or cat is their only source of comfort in a very difficult life.

These animals, voiceless and vulnerable, bring companionship, emotional support, and moments of joy in otherwise heavy days. They are not just pets—they are family.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you.

If you can spare a bag of dog or cat food—even just one—it might mean the world to an animal that otherwise has to scavenge or survive on scraps of bread. What may feel like a small act to you can make a big difference to a hungry animal and a grateful owner.

Let’s reach out. Let’s help feed the voiceless who bring light into dark places.

Adoption Update! 🐾💛

A few months ago, we were asked to help rehome a sweet adult cat. A dear friend of mine stepped in and gave this lovely boy, now named **Caspurr**, his forever home.

What we didn’t expect was the next chapter in this story…

Caspurr had a sister who remained at the shelter, waiting patiently for nearly 6 months. One afternoon, while chatting over tea (and of course talking about our cats 🐱), I mentioned that Caspurr had a sister still at the shelter. Without missing a beat, my friend said, *“Then we have to reunite them.”*

And that’s exactly what happened. 💕
Now, these two beautiful siblings are back together — happy, safe, and so very loved.

This video of their sweet reunion is the perfect way to close this adoption story. 🐾✨
