It is currently winter here in South Africa, so am not putting out the babies till it warms up more. (I put a blanket over them at night to help keep them warm.) They lovvvvvvveee blue gum tree branches to chew on and play in.Between the trees, toys and swings - Keeps them busy all day. This is * the demolition gang*. THEIR NAMES ARE: MANGO, LEMON, STORM, SUNNY AND SHALOM.( x3 hens and x2 males in this batch of babies) more to come however, watch this space......

AFTER SURVIVING THE HOTTEST SUMMER IN THE RECORDED HISTORY OF MY CITY - I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED TODAY TO HEAR CHICKS IN SOME OF MY GOLDEN CONURE GIRLS NESTS, AND ALSO TO SEE ONE OF MY FAVORITE GIRLS GOING DOWN FOR "ROUND X2" THIS SEASON. ..EXCELLENT!!

Good news - my 1st chick from Queenie came out yesterday. Looking beautiful, fine, fit and healthy. Waiting expectantly for the next ones........
Also - Am not sure yet, but I think I am also hearing chick noises from Disco and Daddy's box. Will have to wait a while to find out as I don't have a camera to see into theirs and don't want to disturb at this point.

Still waiting for another of my hens chicks to start to fledge. (Babies of Queenie and Prettyboy) Hopefully they should start coming out in the next 7 days. The weather has been crazy with thunderstorms here in South Africa, so it probably has prohibited them from wanting to come out any earlier.

3rd chick came out today. Will give them a few weeks to get them use to their new environment before I snap some great photos for you all. I still have some other hens chicks in the nest, but i think 3 is all that Pompom is giving me this time around.
