🐾 STAY VIGILANT: LEVEL 8 WEATHER ALERT 🐾

The South African Weather Service has issued a severe Level 8 warning for disruptive rain and potential flooding in the Nelson Mandela Bay areas from 05–07 May.With winds predicted up to 100km/h and heavy rainfall expected, the safety of our community—and our animals—is our top priority.

ANIMAL IN DISTRESS?
If you see an animal in danger, trapped by rising water, or in need of emergency assistance, please call municipality emergency services.

🏠 TIPS FOR PET OWNERS:
✅Bring them inside: Ensure pets have a dry, safe space away from rising water and howling winds
✅Check their collars: Make sure IDs are secure in case they get spooked and escape.
✅Livestock safety: If you have farm animals in low-lying areas, please move them to higher ground now.

Please stay safe, avoid unnecessary travel, and keep a close eye on those who cannot speak for themselves. 🌧️❤️

Tapeworm is a flat, ribbon-like parasitic worm that lives in the intestines of dogs and cats. It attaches to the gut and absorbs nutrients from the animal's food.

Animals with tapeworms may loose weight, have a dull coat, mild diarrhoea, or show irritation around the back end. Small rice-like segments can sometimes be seen in the stool or around the a**s.

Regular deworming and good flea control are important to prevent tapeworm infection 🐾

Behind the scenes, we are currently finalising all the necessary documentation, registrations, and compliance requirements to ensure we operate professionally and within all regulations.

Our goal is to provide accessible, quality veterinary support and care to the community — from basic animal health services to outreach and education.
