🌧️❤️ In the middle of the recent storms in Cape Town, kindness showed up in the most incredible way. ❤️🌧️

A massive THANK YOU to Tailormade Construction for their huge donation of roof sheets, pallets, and shade cloth to help us after the storm damage we experienced at the kennels. 🐾

When the winds were howling and the rain was pouring, we were worried about how we would repair and protect our dogs’ spaces — but amazing people stepped in to help carry us through. Your generosity means safer, drier, and more comfortable kennels for our rescue dogs, and we are beyond grateful.

A special thank you as well to Tracy and the team for organising everything and making this donation possible. It truly means the world to us.

And once again, our absolute heroes at Barking Delights did not hesitate for a second. They rented a trailer yet again and helped us collect this amazing donation. Your constant support, willingness to jump in and help, and the love you show our rescue dogs never go unnoticed. ❤️🐶

A heartfelt thank you as well to Robyn and Carole for your financial contributions towards helping us recover after the storms. Every bit of support helps us rebuild, repair, and continue caring for the dogs depending on us every single day.

10:15 — THE DELIGHTS VAN ARRIVED.
I heard the gate click and went from 0 to 100 real quick. I did my signature low-to-the-ground, full-body wiggle all the way to the door. The Barking Delights human gave me the best chest scratches, which is exactly how you greet royalty.

11:00 — The trail today was epic. I set the pace for the pack because my legs may be short, but my spirit is pure power! The mud on the route was top-tier quality. I made sure to walk directly through the middle of the deepest puddle to give my belly a proper coat of armor.

11:45 — Time for the grand finale: the post-walk wrap-up. I stood perfectly still like a very good boy while they gave me the ultimate, heavy-duty towel dry. Honestly, the friction feels like a full-body massage, so I let out a few of my trademark grunts of pure satisfaction.

12:30 — Back home, completely horizontal on the couch, and baking in a patch of sunlight. Floors are clean, paws are dry, and my brain is completely switched off.

Same time tomorrow, pwease. 🐾

We honestly have the most amazing people standing behind us! 🐾❤️

A MASSIVE thank you to Giving is Living- Cape Town for sharing their incredible donation of tins with us! The dogs are definitely not complaining about all the yummy food arriving at the kennels. 😋 Every single tin helps us keep tails wagging and bellies full, and we are so grateful for your kindness and generosity.

And then… our superheroes Barking Delights came to the rescue yet again! 🚛🐶 Not only did they jump in to help, but they actually rented a trailer and brought all the food through to us. That is no small task, and we appreciate the effort more than words can say.

Rescue is never a one-person job. It takes a whole community of kind-hearted people willing to step in, help carry the load, and support the dogs when they need it most. From donations, to transport, to simply showing up when needed — every little bit makes a huge difference.

So today we just want to say THANK YOU. Thank you for caring. Thank you for helping us continue this crazy rescue journey. And thank you for making sure our dogs know they are loved by so many people. ❤️🐾

Now excuse the dogs while they inspect every single tin like tiny food critics. 😂

We truly have the most amazing community around us. ❤️

The last couple of weeks have been rough, and it all started when our washing machine decided to leave the country. 😅 With the amount of washing we do daily at the kennels, this was a massive problem for us.

But once again, incredible people stepped in to help.

A huge thank you to Colleen Stofberg for buying us a brand new washing machine — we honestly cannot thank you enough! 🐾

Thank you as well to Ronel Gardeur and Amy Morris for donating your old front loader washing machines to us. Your kindness and willingness to help means the world.

And Barry — thank you so much for your financial contributions and support during this stressful time. We appreciate it more than you know.

🌧️🐾 We were incredibly fortunate that the storm over the last 2 days did not hit our kennels too hard. While many areas suffered severe damage, we are grateful that our rescue dogs stayed safe and dry. ❤️
Unfortunately, one of our kennel roofs did blow off during the strong winds, and we now urgently need to repair it before the next round of bad weather arrives.
