It's always good to work dogs and handlers under different conditions in mantrailing. We work in busy urban areas, to cold rainy days and even night time training all these different environments and elements add challenges that we need to work through. Keeping it fun and challenging really produces good trailing dogs and builds great confidence in them.

So this is what some people think dog training is. There is a huge difference between a trained dog and learnt helplessness.

The sad reality is this is one of many "trainers" using these outdated abusive methods forcing dogs to comply rather than teaching them.

Be very aware of where you go for dog training although this is in Botswana I have seen people here in South Africa "train" like this.

It was so cool being part of this demo. It's always great to show off the dogs skills in man trailing and protection work whenever there is an opportunity and at the same time we showed the kids that dog handling and dog training can also be a great career choice which comes with its own set of rewards.

Children were treated to an extra-special career day when the police came to visit.

Thank you to everyone who came through to the Pretoria Boeremark this past Saturday to watch and participate in our demos. It was super fun as usual and the dog's really loved all the attention they got while working and walking around. Thank you to Jurassic Bark for inviting us again this year it is always great to team up with others to demonstrate what awesome abilities dogs have.

This past weekend was a first for Tame the beast. We were invited to run a mantrailing workshop in Cape Town. Despite the cold and windy conditions it was a really awesome experience with a great group dogs and people.
