Did you know you can give one of their dogs a chance to join ANY of our hikes? Simply contact Oudtshoorn Dogs in Need ODIN (082 875 9483) to arrange collecting a rescue dog, and then confirm your booking with us so we can both prepare for their special day out. Together, we can ensure everything is perfectly planned for a wonderful experience!

Embark on an Adventure!
Get ready for an exciting 3km adventure walk along the stunning Garden Route Dam! This is the perfect opportunity for your dog to explore new terrain, take in breathtaking views, and enjoy a safe swim at our spot—just 1.45km in and back. Whether your pup loves the water or simply wants to enjoy the journey, this walk is sure to be an unforgettable adventure!

What to Expect:

Distance: Very easy 3km route of pure adventure!

Terrain: Easy, scenic path along the dam with plenty of space to explore

Swimming Spot: A fantastic spot to dip your dog in the cool water or let them splash around at their own pace!

Off-lead & On-lead: Let your dog roam free and enjoy the freedom, or keep them on lead for added control. Whatever suits your dog’s adventure

What to Bring:

Water for hydration—let’s keep those paws and tails happy!

Tick & flea treatment to keep your dog protected on their journey

Hey Adventurers and their Wagging Tails!

Get ready for a pawsome evening hike with your furry BFFs! Here’s the lowdown:

🐾 Kick-off Time: We’re hitting the trail at 18:15, so make sure your paws (and feet) are there by 18:00.

🐾 Duration: Just over an hour of walking, sniffing

🐾 Essentials: Bring water for you and your furball, poo bags for those… erm… “surprises,

🐾 Rules:

Off-lead pups are welcome, but they must play nice! Pop them back on a leash if another leashed doggo approaches.

🐾 Paperwork: Before we hit the trail, we’ll sign some indemnity forms (basically promising not to blame me if your dog chases a squirrel into the next province).

Come solo, bring your bestie, or bring a whole pack—either way, we’ll make it an un-fur-gettable adventure! 🐶

Snow, Fox & Rose Take on Witfontein!

This evening's adventure was full of energy and fun! Snow decided the mud pools were irresistible, and before we knew it, he was jumping in, running around, and having the time of his life. His zoomies kicked in, and I had to run alongside him on the lead to keep up!

Here’s a glimpse of our messy little star after his mud bath—dirty face, happy heart!

We've received a request to avoid using a specific hiking route in Witfontein due to ongoing harvesting activities. We will be visiting the area today to confirm whether our planned hike for Saturday can proceed or if the route will remain closed due to the work being done.

🐕 🌳 This moderate route offers a pleasant mix of terrain, featuring longer, gradual uphills that are manageable for most fitness levels. The path is not technical, making it suitable for beginners and experienced adventurers alike. It follows a gravel track, winding past a serene stream and crossing a picturesque bridge, with wonderful views of George along the way. The route mainly consists of a wide-open road, with sections of single track adding variety to the experience. Ideal for anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors without too much challenge. 🐾 🌞

🐾🌟 The Sunday Wander Pack! 🌟🐾

This morning, the Sunday Wander Pack—Snow, Fox, Baloo, Sage, and our ever-faithful Rose—set out for a 6km loop at the Garden Route Dam! 🐕🚶‍♀️ We beat the rain and even paused for a little toe-dipping in the water. 💦

Rose and Sage were on high alert, bravely diving at every moving blade of grass to protect us from unseen “dangers.” 🌿🕵️‍♀️ Their heroic efforts earned them plenty of praise as the best grass-hunters in the pack! 🏅🐾

Another epic adventure in the books! Ready to join the Wander Pack next time? 🐕✨

Are you a proud owner of a medium or large breed puppy? We’re exploring the idea of hosting a 2km Puppy Walk & Playdate at the beautiful Garden Route Dam, and we’d love to know if you’re interested! 🐶💖

Here are the details:
✔️ Puppies should have already walked this distance comfortably.
✔️ All vaccinations must be up to date.
✔️ Medium to large breeds only, as smaller breeds may find it tricky to keep up with the bigger pups.
✔️ Tick & flea treatments must be current to keep everyone safe.

Why is this important? 🐾 Socializing your pup from an early age is crucial for building their confidence, improving their behavior, and ensuring they grow into happy, well-adjusted adult dogs.
