IT TOOK A WHOLE BUNCH OF CONCERNED DRIVERS to secure Guardians rescue .. 🙏

Thank you to the truck driver and the other drivers for drawing a l***r around this girl and assisting ODIN in catching her. She had been charging in absolute terror on the Calitzdorp road, with no regard of vehicles ..

She is safe now, we purchased a Bravecto as she is RIDDLED with ticks .. she is also pregnant. This doggy was likely dumped .. maybe another pregnancy was too much for the owner to cope with 😢

We have had to leave her at the Municipal Pound for her seven day stray period .. in the meantime we would appreciate any contribution towards her food, Bravecto and sterilisation ⚘️🧚‍♀️🐾🙏🙈 PLEASE 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

PS We will take her cooked food daily .. she will soon forget her traumatic experience. Maybe a soft blanket would help as well. We are all out of blankets. They flew yesterday during our outreaches in the cold and rain ❤️ @ ODIN 072 084 1374

ODIN is a pro-life organisation that focuses on Outreach programmes for animals in need in the Karoo and Eden Districts. We Educate, Medicate, Rescue and Rehome.

Offering free primary healthcare, vaccinations, deworming, sterilisation and veterinary treatment, they also remove and rehome unwanted animals, responds to cases of cruelty and educates communities about responsible pet ownership 💜

ODIN was chosen by our first place winner in the July People's Choice Competition - StarPet Mudley!

On our outreaches yesterday one of the pregnant moms were clearly close to giving birth. We uplifted her immediately and begged Dr Susi at Eden Small Animal Hospital to take her in last night .. we were concerned she would give birth in the rain and mud and cold. She sleeps in the street.

Dr Susi agreed .. so we took her over the mountain to our Vet and lucky Lady (yes two Lady's on the termination and sterilisation list today) got to sleep warm before surgery this morning. ❤️❤️❤️

Please if you can contribute to the terminations and sterilisations of our FOUR pregnant fairies today we would be most appreciative 🙏🙏🙏 We would love to provide them with a dewormer and Nexgard when they get "home" (as well as a little food parcel) ... in total R1250 per doggy 🙈🙈🙈🙏🙈💔. This is just one of the challenges ODIN faces. No 4 x 4s .. luckily we could provide both Pieter and Charlene Szucs with Johnsons ankle boots .. just in time for this cold, wet spell ... are you reading this from your warm home? On the warm bus? At your comfortable office?

And do our staff get regular salaries? Thank you's? No to both. But we pitch. Every. Single. Day.

We HAVE TO FIND THIS MOM .. she is due to give birth and this is exactly where it happens. In the cold wet miserable Karoo township. We need to get her to Eden Small Animal Hospital where Dr Susi is waiting for FOUR terminations this morning. She didn't bat an eye when we called her late yesterday. She just added them to her busy theatre schedule. THANK YOU.

Its a long day and it starts in the dark. From any direction in this vast area,we service it is far to our Vet. But ODINs purpose is outreaches with the specific need to to reduce misery and educate. The first port of call?

Sterilising.

But the need is so great we focus on collecting as many pregnant dogs as possible. We terminate and sterilise. There is no money for regular Spay-a-thons. We have to consistently, daily, sterilise. And return the lucky dog with blankets, deworming and tick and flea treatment. And we never let her off our radar .. we will always check up.

Lady is our first pick up in this freezing cold, wet weather in Oudtshoorn. She is off to Eden Small Animal Hospital should you wish to contribute towards her termination and sterilisation. Lucky Lady 💔. @ ODIN 072 084 1374

Layla.

You would've spent the night in the cold and wet. Except ODIN drove past. Correction. ODIN didn't drive past. We stopped. We got involved.

We dewormed and gave Bravecto. We added you to the steri list. We moved you back into your home. After all, your mommy brought you up in this house. Then she got sick and you were booted out by the family. That was not going to happen again!

Dont worry .. we put you straight back inside.

A nice blanket under the wheelchair, a spot for your food and we PROMISE TO CHECK UP on you.

Inebriation. No pride. The demon that takes over your psyche.

SASSA that adds to misery. It certainly doesn't uplift. It never goes where it belongs 💔😢

The three day SASSA feast makes our work impossible to carry out. SASSA is celebrated with unprecedented alcohol intake.

We seldom see evidence of the children, disabled or elderly benefitting 😢. Why not implement food coupons.

None of our business you say?

Not while we end up feeding your animals and seeing your children watch every move coming from the bakkie. Hoping for something to eat as well.

So yes, it is our business.
