Attention – All Pet Sitters
Okay, round two 😅 the first post I put up got some great responses, and one thing kept coming up that I didn't expect: it's not really the pet stuff that trips sitters up (most of you have that locked down with forms, books, folders), it's the HOUSE stuff. Dustbin day. Pool pump settings. What to do when the solar trips. Which alarm code goes with which zone when there's more than one system. The random things an owner forgets to mention because it's just normal life to them, until you're standing there at 6pm not sure what to do. So I want to ask this group the same thing: what's the most random, oddly specific piece of house info that's ever caught you off guard on a sit, the kind of thing you now always ask about upfront because you got caught out once? No pitch, just collecting real stories so I understand the actual problem before I try to solve anything 🗄️

I'm working on a tool to make the admin side of pet sitting less painful — the intake forms, the emergency info, the "wait what does she eat again" texts at 11pm.

Before I build anything, I want to hear it from you first:

👉 What's the most annoying, time-wasting part of taking on a new client?
👉 If a client's pet info (feeding, meds, vet, emergency contact) just... stayed saved for next time, would that actually help, or is that not your problem?
