WATERMARK JOHARI
(Full sister to Watermark Just Jubelnd (171 cm) who was Grand Champion at the LM comptetion in 2024), where she took Reserve Champion.
Johari also came 1st in the 2 year old Potential Dressage Horse.
She scored 9 for trot, 8.5 for canter, 8.5 for type and 9 for overall impression with a total score of 82%. The judges loved her.
She currently stands at 163 cm at 4 and a half years of age, but we believe that she may go up at least another 2 inches. She is currently being backed and has shown intelligence, a good work ethic and a willingness to learn and please. She also really loves people and loves to be cuddled.
We have big dreams for this young mare. She has a superb, uphill way of going and a canter us dressage folk all search for. She shows good activity in the hind-leg and shoulder, with a slow even tempered rhythm, with long, loping, ground covering strides. Again, Justus de Jeu has done his job and imparted the ever vital beautiful temperament. She even acts like a superstar, never just “going” somewhere, but always “strutting”. She seems to know that she is beautiful and certainly turns heads. She does not throw a winter coat and has a glistening coat even throughout the cold Free State winter.
There is no doubt that in the right hands, she will be a dressage superstar.
Her full brother is currently No.3 in the country in the dressage Prelims (some provinces still to compete) Exceptional dressage breeding, by Justus de Jeu (by Johnson who has been World No. 1 sire for the last four years) out of Watermark Bonfire (171 cm).
The pedigree brings together some of Europe’s most influential performance dressage bloodlines, including Johnson, Jazz, Florencio I, Florestan I, Uphill, Donnerhall, Ferro and Flemmingh, with a touch of Thoroughbred blood through Painters Row xx. Johari is a seriously well-bred horse with generations of proven sport-horse blood behind them.
We recently bred her to Florida TN and she has given us a lovely filly with super conformation and paces. We think JOHARI may reach the 17 hh mark, as she hasn’t had much chance to grow in the last 18 months, having been pregnant and a foal at foot (recently weaned).
