*POTHOLE UPDATE* and good news that The City of Tshwane asphalt plant will be running from today.
On Sunday, Lavesh Pillay from F1 podcast, and I filled the unsightly, difficult to manoeuvre around potholes at the circle at the cnr of Barbara Coetzer (Link Rd) and Liesching streets, and the 5 big ones on Military Rd in front of the prison (vehicles had to go onto the oncoming lane to avoid them which caused extra traffic). We also tackled the cnr of Bengal and 43rd Ave, cnr of Emerald and 6th and cnr of Pearl and 9th.
We started in the rain and ended during loadshedding.
We have about 200kg left, so please comment with the pothole you want us to fill. P.S. we have authorisation from the city.
The City of Tshwane asphalt plant has recently got the licence to manufacture approved, but unfortunately, the bitumen tender has lapsed, so pothole repair was delayed. Instead of waiting for the pothole sizes to increase, we have purchased 750kg of pothole repair mix. Sponsored by residents of the Laudium to PAJ COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT NPC. The Executive Mayor has since updated us with the good news that the tender has been awarded, and the first load of bitumen is to be delivered today. The asphalt plant would then be operating normally and supplying the region.
Our contributors know that a small contribution now is better than the expensive cost of a tyre or damaged suspension later.
We would also like to thank Laudium Community Care for also taking the initiative to repair potholes in Erasmia. Well done!
Thank you for your ongoing support.
