Larane Trakehner Stud The stud is owned and managed by veterinary nurse, Jodi James. Our horses are barefoot and we are supporters of the AANHCP. Trakehners are all-rounders.

The stud breeds purebred registered Trakehner horses in accordance to the breed standards of the German Trakehner Verband. We are a small stud, focusing on breeding quality purebred Trakehner horses for the disciplines of eventing, dressage and show jumping. We believe strongly in providing our horses with a more natural environment and diet and we are in the process of developing a "Paddock Parad

ise" for our horses. The Trakehner has been the forerunner for systematic riding horse breeding. The Prussian main stud of Trakehnen was founded by King Friedrich Wilhelm I in 1732. Influenced by english Thoroughbred and purebred Arabian stallions and mares, the Trakehner has been and still is the only riding horse breed characterised by a closed stud book. This means that even today Thoroughbred and Arab blood is the only possible addition to Trakehner pure breeding, other warmblood breeds are excluded. They are ideal partners for any rider and compete with top-professionals and amateurs. They are intelligent horses that will stick with their riders through thick and thin, when hacking, hunting or just enjoying the daily pleasures of the most wonderful sport in the world. They are unsurpassed in their willingness to perform. Elegant, od distinctive type and keen to perform - the Trakehner is the most "thoroughbred" of German riding horse breeds. The expert knows a Trakehner at first sight, even without glancing at the characteristic moose antler brand. A Trakehner stands out from the crowd distinctively due to the breed's charm and noble carriage. Trakehner stallions have always played and still play a decisive role as improvers in German warmblood breeding. The Trakehner is the oldest riding-horse breed of the world and truly benefits from this history: for almost 300 years, the breeders have focused on and selected for suitability and aptitude for riding purposes.

Wyoming has been found!!
Thank you Berg Protection Services for the outstanding investigative work that led to the recovery of our Wyoming. It’s been a very rough 9 days and we would like to thank our family, friends and Underberg/Bulwer/Donnybrook community for the overwhelming support and help. A huge thank you to the horse loving community. I cannot believe how many people helped share the news since she was stolen. A huge thank you to each and everyone of you. It is honestly a gastly thing to experience and the not knowing was agonising. She was in alot of pain when she was found but her spirits lifted and ears perked when she saw a familiar face and bravely walked a fare distance to a place closer to the road where we met her with a box to load her.
I am grateful to my incredible husband and ‘team Wyoming’. You know who you are! She is making a remarkable recovery and has already come a long way in a day. She has been through a horrible experience, has wounds from having her leg tied up, rope burns and cuts in her lips and she was covered in ticks and bites, but she is on her way to being her beautiful self and although lame from her injuries now, we anticipate a full recovery for her. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the incredible support 🧡
