What started out as 'free to a good home' puppies on a local group 🐶....

One of our volunteers made contact with the owner and sent me details. After discussing the family's current circumstances, affordability and having four adult dogs to care for, they made the responsible decision to surrender not only the pups, but mom and another male as well.
There are two older males left which they can better care for now but will need help to get them sterilized ✂️

Ag my heart is leaping 😍...

Most people will never know the feeling of having your heart burst from the seams with joy and love for an animal that is not your own....

It took over a year for Wh**ey just to let me finally touch him without running away.... But today.. 😬😬😬.... Today Wh**ey came and ASKED me for lovies and I could touch and rub and kiss him for what felt like forever and if I stopped, he leaned in for more 😍😍😍
He is old, he is skinny, but he's the GOAT, he goes where he wants, when he wants, have the battle scars to prove it and is still master of the streets knowing every road in there, street smart and only going home for naps.

His sidekick, Timone (actually lives at the home behind Wh**ey's), also took a long time to trust me 🐶. My heart melted when he ran after me as I was about to leave and sat behind my car patiently waiting for a treat.... Gosh, I didn't have any with me as the quick hello was unplanned but how could I disappoint this sweet face that knows I bring love... and treats 😬
I only had puppy pellets with me but apparently, it was a good enough replacement 🤞 Him and Whitney loooooved and completely dug into the yumminess and I could leave knowing he didn't sit so nicely in vain 🤗

If Bad Boyz were dogs, it would be this duo 🤭

Sweetie is not a happy chappie after we told him he wouldn't have any jingle bells left for Christmas 🤭🔔🎄

But we promised to make it up to him with a prezzie and treats this festive season 😻
Sweetie was booked in for his sterilization this morning 🎉

PUPDATE: After I lost my little Fielies, I said I'll never have a teeny tiny doggie again.... Until I crossed paths with a whirlwind furball smaller than my fist 👊

Today, exactly 35 weeks and 1.7 kgs later - after lots of missed sleep, tube feeding a 45 gram, two day old, cleft lip baby, every two hours for weeks, stress, anxiety and a whole lot of love... Here we are 🤗

This journey has been incredible and the bond we have unbreakable, so yes, I have a teeny tiny doggie again and he has my heart ❤️

He was groomed again today by the Best of Ekhuruleni's winner, the patient, fantastic The Doggy Parlour 😍 who also groomed Fielies for the years we were together 🐶

Duncan wasn't feeling well this week, so a trip to the doc and injection later, the sulking was next level 😘

Yaaaay 🎉

Thank you Boksburg SPCA for rehoming this munchkin 🤗

After becoming aware of Whatsapp messages that he is being given away "free to a good home" I made contact to collect him before he could end up in the wrong hands 👐

He stayed with me until that weekend but due to prior commitments I couldn't take on the responsibility of rehoming him which is not an overnight process when done the right and ethical way 🏡

He was entrusted to Boksburg SPCA for adoption, where he was vaccinated, received love and care, was networked and found the perfect family, 💙

PUPDATE: Of course, Teddy(bear) which is Zues' biological brother, is just as happy and loved in his home 😘

He's had his summer groom and ready to meet the (rest) of the world, he is a social butterfly that loves everyone he meets 😍

PUPDATE: Beautiful boy Zues doesn't let partial deafness defeat him, he is loving adopted life... and the pool 🏊

He has settled in so well and adores his new fluffy brother and family, and they him 😘

We couldn't be happier after his miserable start to life (still sad and angry the useless backyard breeder WILL continue to breed and sell pups with genetic abnormalities just for profit, her "income" as she says, and of course after her sale, it's not her problem, rescues cleaning up her mess 🤬)
Anyway... rant over, Zues' guardian angels worked overtime to find his perfect furever family, happy swimming buddy 🤗

One kitty whose future is luckily not jinxed 😻 Not so synonymous with her name, Jinks has many happy, healthy and kitten-free years ahead 🎉

Recently she had her very last litter that was surrendered and as of today, those days are over as she is being sterilized 😺

PUPDATE: 🤣🤣🤣 I'm crying laughing at this hyena wild child 🤭... Adopted Tyson gets craaaaaazy zoomies and there's no chance of bragging with a nicely made bed when he's in the vicinity 🐶

When he gets off work (yes, he has a day job as emotional suppawt-hero to the elderly), he really lets his hair down and entertains his family with his moves 😬

It makes us happy, seeing the babies grow and settle in their homes and getting amazing updates like these, really make our day 🎉

Bianca is still a baby herself and recently had her first litter, which was surrendered (see last week's post) 🐱

She already started prowling for her next baby daddy but today we put an end to her shenanigans 😬 She was booked in for steri and there's no more 'ooh ooh aah aah sexy eyes' (🎶 trying not to sing that part) 😻

Her elderly owner is very grateful that Bianca will cuddle with her instead of snuggle with the lads 😺

It's been just over a year since Sally settled into her happy ever after 😍

I'll never forget this bright eyed, tail wagging furball zooming into the neighbouring property whilst I was busy with another doggie, soooo happy to see me. She was picked up as a stray and kept but she didn't quite feel at home outside the door on the old couch with not even a blanket...

Now, she rules the roost of the Botha home, she fit right in and since then, blossomed with her personality shining through, enjoys catching the rays outside in summer and cuddling up on the cold days 🤗
She is very protective of her oupa and makes the most noise when anyone dares set foot or passes HER yard 😬

She is so loved and we enjoy getting her updates and antics 😍

Tick and Flea as well as deworming continued

Shuni, Blackie 1, Cutee, Chloe, Boxer, Rex, Blackie 2 and Danger 2 all received food as well 🤗 I'm worried as Jaguar wasn't home with Rex and their owner wasn't there, I hope and pray nothing has happened to him 😭

Goofy, Zoey and Scoofy's mom has agreed to steri and Zoey's little human asked for a brush to groom her which I gave him this morning.

So many runners, collars and chains to fix again, we'll have to put a whole day aside to make it better 🙏
