Thanks to all that have donate towards Burke's annual checkup. You made our day!

At his appointment everyone told him how handsome he was, how cute his ears are... I think his head grew even bigger with all the compliments.

He's a healthy pup ready to begin his next adventure, being adopted.

If you have an active female pup at home looking for a playmate please fill out an application, https://midwestrescue.org/adoption-process We'd love to meet you and your pup!

Great news: our blue boy Burke is ready to find his forever family!

Burke is snuggly, playful and very dog social. (In fact, he told us he NEEDS to go to a home with at least one female pup so he has a buddy.) He is crate trained, good on a leash and loves walks. He is about 1.5-2 years old.

Like many rescue dogs, Burke had a rough puppyhood. He, his foster and trainer worked so hard to get him to this point! (Fortunately, he’s smart and he loves training, too.) We’ll be telling you more about Burke and his dream family soon.

But before he starts the next phase of his journey, he needs a vet check and boosters. If you’d like to help get Burke on his way to his forever home, please consider donating to his vet care. He’ll be grateful—and we will be, too. Thank you!

Sending a BIG thank you to the person or persons that send a box of goodies to Burke through Chewy. He is truly enjoying all the toys and treats! Thanks so very much from Burke and Midwest Rescue.

Ellie came through surgery great! She is back at her foster home enjoying her pain meds and resting.
Please keep four fingers and paws crossed for good results from pathology

Could you help a sweet senior kitty out? Ellie needs surgery to remove an infected cyst.

This little tuxedo girl has been through so much. A few months ago, she orchestrated her own rescue by stepping directly in front of one of our board member’s cars at night. She was wobbly, starving and nearly blind. She was so tiny (she weighed just 4 lbs.), we first thought that she was a kitten.

Since then—with help from her loving foster family and some much-need vet care—this former stray has made amazing progress. Yes, she has a heart murmur. And chronic eye problems. But she’s also affectionate, happy and sassy, loves her people, and has even discovered the joy of toys. She’s gained weight and now her coat is shiny.

Except for this nasty infected cyst on her neck. Despite repeat vet visits, we just can’t get it to heal up or calm down—and according to our vet, it’s going to take surgery to finally bring her relief.

Please consider donating toward Ellie’s surgery, and help this purry little survivor keep living her best life. Sharing helps, too!
