Today marks one year since we lost the other Grandpa who helped shape Misty & Echo Valley Co into what it is today.

Animals were always part of his life. As a child, he once received a set of toy animals for Christmas, and before his brothers even woke up, he quietly switched them so he ended up with mostly cows.

Every year he would move his cows and calves across the North Saskatchewan River on horseback. It wasn’t easy work, but those moments working alongside family and friends became memories that would last a lifetime… even if we didn’t fully appreciate them at the time 😂

Grandma especially loved the chickens and enjoyed custom hatching!

I still remember him saying to me chicken farmers are some of the weirdest people you’ll ever meet… and here we are 😂

Their love for animals and way of life will always be part of Misty & Echo Valley Co 💛

Today marks one year since we lost Grandpa, one of the two grandpas who helped shape the heart behind Misty & Echo Valley Co.

He worked hard, cared deeply for his family, and taught us the value of resilience, kindness, and dedication. He also had a great sense of humor and always seemed to have a joke ready. He had a special love for animals, especially chickens, peacocks, and all the unique and interesting birds that always seemed to find a place with him. His appreciation for the simple things and the everyday joys of farm life continues to influence what we are building today.

Whether it was sharing stories, lending a helping hand, or simply being there when he was needed, he left an example that continues to guide us. The lessons he passed down, the traditions he valued, and the work ethic he lived by are reflected in how we care for our animals, support our family, and keep moving forward.

In every early morning, every animal cared for, and every step forward, a part of him is still with us.

We are proud to continue what he started and to keep building something that would make our grandpas proud.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Always remembered. 🤍
