These nosy little kitties were rescued from an overcrowded shelter in Oklahoma. And today, they’ve made it all the way to Oregon and are ready to find their forever homes!

⚠️ WARNING: EXPLICIT STORY - But it has a beautiful ending. 💔➡️💖

Felicia was found wandering the streets of Mexico City, completely blind - someone had gouged her eyes out with sticks. She was in pain, terrified, and alone… hoping someone would care enough to help. 😔

And someone did. Our rescue partners Amor Sin Raza found her, got her safe, and drove her all the way to LA, where we met them and brought her to Bend, OR to find a forever home. 🐾

So why do we rescue dogs from the streets of Mexico?

Because dogs like Felicia deserve a chance.
Dogs who are thrown away like trash.
Dogs who survive unthinkable cruelty.
Dogs who just want love, safety, and a soft bed.

Felicia was adopted in 2019 and is now living her best life in Oregon with her mom, Laney - hiking, playing, and smiling every day. 💪🐶 Even after everything humans did to her, she still chooses to love and trust. That is what resilience looks like.

We can’t save every dog… but we can save one at a time. And with your help, we’ll keep showing up - until no dog has to suffer like Felicia ever again. ❤️

When that belly rub hits just right 😌

No, this is not a land seal 🦭 - it’s Sushi the dog and yes, he really is this adorable in real life.

Our favorite thing about Sushi? He looks like a 3 month old puppy but he’s actually almost a year old!

Sushi was rescued from an overcrowded shelter in Texas and we can’t figure out how he ended up there because this boy is so full of love ❤️ People? Yes, please. Other dogs? LOVES them! Cats? Gives them respectful space.

🥹 If loyalty had a face, it would be Dante’s - complete with velvety soft ears and the kind of adorable wrinkles that’ll have you emptying your treat stash without a second thought. Dante is one of Daphne’s puppies who was found abandoned in the desert in San Felipe, Mexico as a newborn puppy.

Today, at 10 weeks old, Dante’s already showing off his smarts. His foster, , says he:
✅ Knows how to “sit” like a pro
✅ Is crate trained
✅ Sleeps through the night
✅ AND he’s even potty trained!

Dante is the perfect mix of cuddle bug and explorer. Whether he’s following you from room to room or joining you on an outdoor adventure, Dante is all in. He walks wonderfully on a leash, comes when called, and is just as content snuggling on the couch as he is checking out a new trail.

He’s also cat-approved 🐱 and gets along great with everyone he meets!

Pupdate 🧡 Tally - Rescued from Oklahoma in 2024, Tally arrived at Street Dog Hero without a name / just a number. She was terrified of everything, and would flinch at passing cars and would pancake on the ground when we tried taking her for walks.

But everything changed when she landed in a loving foster home. Out of the shelter, her true personality soared! She swam in the river for the first time, did zoomies through the tall grass, and soaked up snuggles on the couch.

Now, Tally has been adopted and her forever family is completely in love. 🥹💕

“Sweet Tally loves to be around people and other dogs. 🐕 She loves to learn and is very food motivated. She loves adventures and doing everything with the family. She enjoys being under blankets and laying on you rather than beside you!

We are so happy that Tally has found her forever home with us and the kids who she has the greatest patience for!” - Tally’s mom and dad, Kristie & Keith.

MISSING PUPPY‼️ Bend friends, please keep an eye out for Buster! He went missing from his foster TONIGHT (7/24) at around 8pm near COCC in between Shevlin Park Road and College Way.

He is a very sweet, friendly puppy but he might be scared. He has a collar on but does not have a Street Dog Hero tag so if you or anyone you know finds him, please call us at 541-508-8023 ASAP!

Street Dog Hero is looking for a part-time Animal Care Technician to join our small but mighty team in Bend, OR!

We’re looking for someone reliable, hardworking, and ready to roll up their sleeves to help rescue pups get the love and care they deserve. Yes, that includes kennel cleaning, feeding, enrichment…and LOTS of dog cuddles. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and is able to work independently and as part of a team.

📍 Job Details:
✨ ~20 hours/week, located in Bend, OR
✨ 4-hour shifts
✨ Weekdays + Weekends

🎉 It’s official - Chase has been ADOPTED!! Remember Chase, the sweet senior pittie from Tulare, CA? He spent over 2 years in an overcrowded shelter simply because he was a senior pitbull with arthritis. Even though he was a super friendly and loving boy, he kept getting overlooked. 💔

But today, that all changes. No more cold kennel floors - now he has a cozy dog bed, loving humans, and the forever home he always deserved. Welcome to your new life, Chase. We’re SO happy for you! 🥹💖
