Cat grasses like oat, wheat, and rye can be grown for birds, too! If offering these grasses straight from the pot, cover the soil to prevent birds from eating it. Otherwise, grasses can be snipped and hung in bundles in the cage or woven through cage bars.

Radar is home on strict rest. He was up walking and eating this morning and chewed out his drip (which I thought he would because he is a menace).

He exhausts very quickly, so rest rest, and more rest is all that is required of him at this stage. He is a lucky boy that I was home and know the signs to look out for and got him in quickly. Time is of essence in emergency situations.

He is also very lucky he had a team of nurses and vets ready to jump when I got him into the clinic yesterday. The swarm of Torenbeek Vet Clinic staff was instantly on him administering what he needed and not to mention nurse Bobbie-Jo racing out to the car to get the kids out and to turn off the car and lock it up.
You guys are simply the best! ❤️

The hardest part will be keeping him quiet for an extended time, I think he knows he is not capable of what he wants to do right now.

Torenbeek Vet Clinic

Well, this was not what we had planned for the day.

Radar, our arab x pointer boy, has played with the wrong creature and has ended up with a snake bite.

I raced him into the clinic this afternoon, where everyone jumped to action, tested his blood to confirm snake bite, and started his injections to help reduce any reactions to anti-venom, sedated, and anti-venom started.

We also tested our other dog, which Nick brought in while I was sitting with Radar, but thankfully, Makaya is fine and didn’t play with any snakes.

Now we wait and hope he is back to his normal annoying destructive self in no time.
