Into rescue this afternoon is little Sparrow approximately 5-6 werks old. Found wandering around Muschamp Road in Carshalton on Tuesday and left at Parkside Vet's.
Quite poorly at the time ?Cat flu.
He's bounced back after some TLC by the nurses there and has been discharged into our care. Now with our amazing fosterer Joel where he's finding his paws already.
The irony of it being national kitten day hasn't been lost on us. 😓

Into the rescue on Tuesday is little Pixie approximately 14-16 weeks old. This little Pixie was found wandering around near the fire station and under the Croydon flyover where thankfully the finder managed to grab her. We've now removed all her fleas, she was absolutely crawling in them to say the least! Now safely with our amazing fosterer Lee and her family.

Sadly despite every effort we've just lost the last of the three kitten's that came in on Tuesday. His weight had decreased over the last 24 hours as had his feed intake, we knew it was only a matter of time.

This is the situation that's happening to rescuers and rescues everywhere, we're facing a crisis in this country, one that's largely going unseen sadly.

A situation that could be avoidable if people take responsibility for their animal's by getting them speyed and nuetered.

Every case takes it out of us and other rescuers both physically and mentally, that's before the pain and suffering the animal's undergo as well.
We know we'll pick ourselves up and be back out there tomorrow, we have to because they don't have a voice.

We're sorry if the photo causes distress, this is the reality now though.

There is NO excuse for animal abuse. 😢

Sometimes the heartbreaks palpable at the rescue, the whole team feel it.
Sadly we lost a second kitten overnight, one of the three that came in earlier this week. 😢

Hello there my name is Nessa and I am 3 years old

A lady called WAR to say that a heavily pregnant cat had kept on trying to get into her house and she was worried, so Baldy popped along to collect me, I was checked for a chip and believe it or not I had one!
Baldy made contact with my previous owner who explained that she had rehomed me and the next owners hadn't changed the chip information and no contact details were known for them, she also explained that I had already had 2 litters and she agreed it would be best for me to go to WAR.

So off I went to my foster home where a few days later I gave birth to five beautiful kittens, I did a fabulous job of bringing them up and as soon as they were ready they all went off to the very best homes

Now that I am finally finished being a mum cat it's time for me to find my forever home
I am not a lap cat I'm a stand on your collar bone and give you big old head bops cat!
I follow my foster mum everywhere but equally if she is busy il happily hang out looking out the window

I'm really looking forward to having my own garden as I miss exploring but the garden needs to be away from main/busy roads

I currently live with another cat and dog but I'm really not keen on them and would rather be the only pet in my new home

Not the nicest of news to bring you this morning we're afraid. The little Ginger kitten that came into us yesterday, believed to be part of Tuesday's litter, sadly didn't make it through the night. Despite every effort by the team there was nothing we could do, it wasn't for a lack of trying though.
We now focus all our efforts on the original two. Both are feeding reasonably well and are going in the right direction weight wise, obviously we're not out of the woods yet though.
Our efforts have continued to find mum but to no avail so far.
RIP little one. 😪

If you recall last week we rescued a young fox trapped in netting? Well after a few day's R+R with the team at Wildlife Aid we had the privilege to be able to return him this evening. Moments like this make up for the one's we all try to save but can't.

So then there was three.
We've just been out to the location where the two kittens came from yesterday after being informed a third one had been found late last night. Sadly still no sign of the mother around though.

An update regarding the newborn kittens who came in today.
An area search was conducted this evening at the location for mum, sadly to no avail. We've spoken with the household that was found on the address label and have satisfied ourselves regarding the circumstances.
The kittens were found by the householder at approximately 10am this morning at the location, the finder took them to the nearest vet's wrapped in a towel and was advised to put them in a box and replace them where they were found , mum will come back for them. The finder has our contact details and is keeping an eye out for mum.
So essentially a stray giving birth and the finder being given the wrong advice despite trying to do the right thing.
