Hi everyone! We'll be meeting with the surgeon at 7am for a consult which could potentially lead to a same-day surgery.
The good news is the biopsies came back negative 👏 Potato has been feeling better and much more like himself. We're glad he's been eating again too but he continues to have bad p**ps, bloating and acid reflux.
The surgery isn't easy but it also isn't high risk although "It's complicated in that there are nuances". Basically the exit of his stomach is like the pointy part of the letter V and the surgery aims to turn the exit into the round part of the letter U. It's a two day recovery in the hospital so they can monitor him for complications.
There is still general risk with the surgery cuz he's older, is a shih tzu (narrower airway) and has a mild heart murmur. But we also don't want him to be miserable and constantly having these horrible p**ps, bloating and chronic vomiting which can impact his organs especially since he already has kidney and liver issues due to Cushing's disease.
We'll keep you all posted after the consult about next steps. Thank you all for your continued love, we appreciate all your thoughts and prayers. We know this little fluffy tater tot means a lot to you too 💕

Tater did great during the endoscopy and came home hangry. They were able to remove a few polyps for biopsy. We'll hopefully get results by week. The blockage is actually a hypertrophic tissue blockage that he might've had since birth. It's called Pyloric Stenosis and it's when the stomach's exit muscle thickens, narrowing the passage to the small intestine.
His internist wants to wait for the results but he'll likely recommend surgery as that's the most common way to treat and correct it. We are of course weary of a doing a pretty major surgery for Potato but we also hate how uncomfortable he gets when he has chronic diarrhea and/or vomiting.
I sit here posting this update from the emergency vet at 2am 🥴 He's ok now, we're waiting for X-ray and ultrasound results.
Potato refused food this morning and had been lethargic throughout the day. He finally ate lunch and had a late dinner around 830pm. About an hour later, he began to breathe weird, was very whiny, would constantly gag and his belly was bloated. We took him out for a late walk where he had a very runny liquid p**p, he also spit up some liquid. He seemed better but after we got ready for bed, he continued to breathe weird. We decided to take him to the ER when he had another p**p. We thought maybe he would be better after that so we waited for him to calm down and settle. Once he did, the weird breathing was back and continued during the car ride. He p**ped again after his exam and X-rays and has been fine and sleeping ever since 😅
They confirmed that he was in pain due to his belly being bloated and distended as a result of the above. So nothing we didn't already know except this is the first time we've seen him in pain from it. They're going to administer an anti nausea and provide some pain meds. 😭 Poor lil bear. Special thanks to the amazing team at

Hi friends! Potato is getting an tomorrow (12/9).

He keeps having a bloated belly, bad p**ps, mucous p**ps, and chronic puking. He's already had two ultrasounds and they said the inside of his stomach looks corrugated.

The internist wants to look inside his belly since he has several small polyps. He thinks there's a polyp plugging up the exit to the small intestine. It's possible he can remove the polyp(s) during the endoscopy but if not, he'll have to have a surgery.

is in this week for his first set of scans at since his surgery to remove a tumor mass in August.

Please send positive vibes our way 💕 As always, we appreciate your love.

Just checking in friends, how are we doing? 💕
It's ok if you're still sad, upset, angry or heartbroken. Feel those things but surround yourselves with what you love and start to heal.
Take care of yourself so we can look out for each other the next four years 💓
Turn off the news and take breaks from social media even though it's funny that Tr*mp voters are googling what tariffs are and if they can change their votes 🤣🤡
