This little one was hurting. So they didn't walk away. 🐘💛**

A young wild elephant was found with . At this age, an injury like this can mean she can't keep up with her herd.

The team moved in gently. They cleaned each wound, packed it with healing medicine, and kept her covered and calm while they worked. She barely moved the whole time, as if she knew they were there to help. 🥺

Every baby elephant saved matters. Sri Lanka's wild elephants face more danger every year, and moments like this give them a real second chance. 🙏

She couldn't stand up anymore. So they came to her. 💔🐘

This wild elephant was found collapsed in the grass, too weak to rise, with [a wound near her mouth / describe the real injury]. Wild elephants almost never lie down like this for long. When they do, it means something is very wrong.

The team moved in carefully, checking her ears, her eyes and her breathing. Every second counted.

[What happened next: treatment given, who helped, how she's doing now]

Sri Lanka has around 6,000 wild elephants left, and hundreds are injured or killed every year in conflict with people. Moments like this are hard to watch, but they're the reason we keep filming. 🙏

He didn't need a ticket. He just walked right up. 🐘🇱🇰

No zoo. No fence. Just a wild Sri Lankan elephant strolling down a public road, stopping by our safari jeep like he owned the place (honestly, he kind of does).

Moments like this are why Sri Lanka is one of the best places on Earth to see Asian elephants in the wild. Pure joy on everyone's faces… and one very calm giant. 😄

But here's the thing most people don't know 👇
These roadside elephants are WILD. Feeding or touching them teaches them to approach vehicles — and that can end badly for both people and elephants. The best way to love them? Admire from a respectful distance. 💚

🐘 She thinks she's being kind. She's not.

In America, park rangers say "a fed bear is a dead bear." The same is true for wild elephants in Sri Lanka.

Every day, people stop their cars and hand bananas to elephants waiting by the road. It feels like a sweet moment. Here's what actually happens:

❌ **Harm to the elephants**
• They stop foraging naturally and start depending on handouts
• Junk food, rotten fruit and plastic bags can make them seriously sick
• They learn to stand on busy roads, where they get hit by trucks and buses
• Mothers teach the habit to their calves, so it passes to the next generation
• When a "begging" elephant becomes pushy, it gets labeled a problem animal and may be relocated or even killed

❌ **Danger to people**
• An elephant expecting food can charge cars, motorbikes and tuk-tuks when nobody feeds it
• Elephants that link humans with food raid villages and farms
• Sri Lanka already loses hundreds of elephants and many human lives every year to human-elephant conflict, and feeding makes it worse

✅ **What you can do instead**
• Keep your distance and stay in your vehicle
• Never offer food, not even fruit
• Take photos quietly and drive on
• Support local conservation groups working to reduce human-elephant conflict

Feeding wild elephants is also illegal in Sri Lanka.

💚 Real love for wildlife means letting them stay wild.

💚 This little one couldn't stand on its own. Today, it's in good hands.

This baby wild elephant in Sri Lanka was found with a badly injured leg. A wildlife vet team rushed in, sedated the calf, cleaned and bandaged the wound, and started IV fluids to give it strength.

Look closely at this photo. The vet is holding the IV bag, a wildlife officer is keeping the leg steady, and villagers are standing quietly nearby, all hoping for the same thing. 🙏

Baby elephants are completely dependent on their mothers and herds. An injury like this can be a death sentence in the wild. Moments like this are a reminder that people and elephants can share this land, and sometimes people get to be the ones who help.

❤️ Drop a heart if you're rooting for this little fighter.
