A busy week at For Paws

Trailing, we had perfect conditions which was reflected in the dogs behavior and we saw how they enjoyed taking a very direct route to the misper
We also had the misper hiding in a buried hide & all the dogs found it easily

Scentwork, we've been looking how we can proof our indications. Also trusting our dogs when they're searching and reading their body language & as a result, what are they telling us

Parkour, we had focus & work in a new, people busy environment

At agility we've been working on obstacle discrimination, working more independently & contacts

And finally in hoopers, we were focusing on distance work and how our body position influences our dogs

It's been great to see handlers developing their skills alongside their dogs while we adapt for individual dogs and their humans

Exciting news for the New Year

As some of you were aware, For Paws lost their agility venue in Autumn last year
We were fortunate enough that another agility trainer offered to share their venue with us and this has worked well

They've now decided to move their business to Wales and For Paws has agreed with the Landlord to take on the venue full time

We're really excited, have lots of fun plans for the future, and to celebrate, have some training days with Barrie James booked in

That's a wrap for 2025

What have you been up to this weekend?

Big shout out to Colin & Nith - they've been chasing that elusive agility clear round, specially wanting Nith to get her weaves in competition

We made a couple of tweaks which Colin took into the ring today - and they smashed one of her agility runs

Not only did they go clear, they went and won the class - whoop whoop Colin & Nith - we're very proud of you
