💜 ONLY 4 DAYS LEFT 💜

When this petition started, reaching 100,000 signatures felt impossible.

Today, more than 170,000 people have signed in support of requiring drivers to report collisions with cats.

Because of your support, the petition has passed the threshold for parliamentary debate and MPs will now consider the issue.

Every signature represents someone who believes cats deserve better. Every share helps spread the message further.

With just a few days remaining before the petition closes, we have one final opportunity to show how much support there is for this change.

Can we reach 200,000 signatures before the petition closes on 17 June?

If you haven’t already signed, please consider adding your name. If you have signed, please help by sharing the petition one last time.

Thank you for helping keep Elsie’s Legacy alive💜🐾

Just two days ago, we celebrated reaching 100,000 signatures.

Today, we’re over 150,000.

Every signature represents someone who believes that cats injured in road traffic collisions deserve a chance, and that drivers should stop and seek help rather than leave them to suffer.

What started as a campaigning for Elsie has become something much bigger 💜

Thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, commented, donated, and helped keep this campaign moving forward.

The more signatures we gather, the louder Elsie’s Legacy becomes.

Next stop: Parliament 🐾

Two months ago today, my beautiful Elsie girl lost her life in a road traffic accident outside our home.

When I learned that drivers are still not legally required to report collisions with cats, I knew I had to do something.

For the last two months, I’ve been sharing Elsie’s story, raising awareness, creating content, speaking to the media, and campaigning for change.

Last night, the petition reached 100,000 signatures.

Not only did we reach the 100,000-signature threshold needed for a Parliamentary debate, but we have already gone beyond it, with more than 131,000 signatures and 9 days still remaining.

Every signature represents someone who understands how much cats mean to their families. Someone who has experienced loss, resonated with Elsie’s story, or simply believes that injured cats deserve help and families deserve answers.

I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has signed, shared, commented, donated their time, and supported this campaign. What started as a promise to Elsie has become something so much bigger than I ever imagined.

Thank you for helping us get this far💜

The campaign isn’t over yet.

Next stop: Parliament 🐾

Let’s keep going. Every signature still counts until the petition closes!

🚨 Just 10 days left 🚨

Yesterday I sat and watched Elsie’s petition gain 110 signatures in just 12 minutes.

Less than two weeks ago, we were at around 51,000 signatures. Today, we’re over 82,000.

It’s incredible to see how many people believe that families deserve to know if their cat has been hit by a car.

As many of you know, Elsie was hit by a car in April this year. The driver stopped and saw she was injured, but left without moving her to safety or seeking help.

Thankfully, a neighbour witnessed what happened and posted on Facebook. That’s how I found out.

That experience led me to discover that, unlike dogs, there is no legal requirement for drivers to report collisions involving cats.

💜 A huge thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, commented, messaged, and supported this campaign so far. We genuinely wouldn’t be here without you.

With just 10 days remaining, we’re closer than ever to the 100,000 signatures needed for a Parliamentary debate.

🐾 If you haven’t already, please sign and share.

For Elsie. For every cat💜

02/06/2026

When Elsie was killed in a road traffic collision, I never imagined where her story would lead.

I simply wanted people to understand why it matters when a cat is hit by a vehicle and why families deserve answers.

Since then, thousands of people have signed, shared and supported the petition. Her story has been featured in local news, discussed nationally, and most importantly, has helped start conversations about how cats are treated under UK road traffic law.

None of this would have happened without the kindness and support of so many people.

Thank you for helping keep Elsie’s legacy alive 💜🐾

Because she was never “just a cat”

24/05/2026

People often say cats are “wild animals” that roam freely.

But UK law already recognises cats as legally owned animals. Cats are treated as property under the Theft Act and are also recognised under criminal damage law.

Despite this, there is still no legal requirement for drivers to report collisions involving cats, even though the law already requires collisions involving dogs to be reported.

The law cannot have it both ways.

Dogs must be reported. Cats should be too.

This campaign is for Elsie, and for every family who deserves answers and closure after losing a beloved cat on the roads. 🤍

In the UK, drivers must legally report hitting dogs, horses and livestock.

But not cats.

Families are left searching. Injured cats are left suffering.

We want this changed. 🤍

Most people are shocked to learn this.

If a dog is hit by a car in the UK, it must legally be reported. Cats are not included under the same road traffic laws.

That means families can be left searching without answers.

The petition started climbing again this morning and every signature helps push this issue further into public awareness 🐾

What should you do if you accidentally hit a cat with your car? 🐾

Many people simply don’t know.

This video explains small actions that could help reunite a cat with their family and why Elsie’s Legacy is campaigning for change.

In the UK, drivers are currently not legally required to report collisions involving cats. We believe that should change.

Please watch, share, and support the petition if you agree 💜

No family should be left searching for answers after their cat is hit by a car.

In the UK, drivers are legally required to report collisions with dogs… but not cats.

Cats deserve legal protection too. 🐾

Please sign & share the petition linked in my bio to help support changes to UK road traffic reporting laws.
