Not one inquiry for Goat or Potato. They're adjusting very well here, but they can't stay.

When I started my rescue, I owned a house, and I had space. Life has taken a turn, and I live in an apartment now, so they can't be here indefinitely. It's just that the efficiency they were in was not adequately cooled during the heatwaves, and now that apartment is in jeopardy of eviction while things are settled so I got them out of there.

Please, if you know anyone looking for a family member, please refer them to the pinned post on the page for GOAT and Potato. They really need you.

Why hunt and do work when anxiety monkeys can do it for you?

In true feline form, cats took their time deciding whether to jump into humans’ laps. In a comprehensive study from 2017 on the spread of domesticated cats, DNA analysis suggests that cats lived for thousands of years alongside humans before they were domesticated. During that time, their genes have changed little from those of wildcats, apart from picking up one recent tweak.

No responses for Goat or Potato.

Have you ever had a cat be TOO friendly? Follow you everywhere, sit on your desk, es**rt you to the bathroom, use you as a pillow when you're in bed?

That's the current situation. They take turns, Goat seems to be a mid-morning kind of girl, and Potato likes the sun to go down.

They are going to have to go back to the apartment soon, now that the heat wave is over.

Please share and leave comments or DM's requesting an application for adoption. They will be returned as soon as the notification is received (spoiler alert, that takes a while sometimes) and the post will be updated with any updates. If they are still listed, they are still up for adoption.

I guess I was completely wrong about how long it would take them to adjust. They follow me all over and climb under the covers with me for love.

The apartment that GOAT and potato were in, alone, while their owner is in the hospital was too hot for them to be safe. It was sweltering, and even though there was air conditioning, it might as well have been off. We've brought them to our house.

Potato is out and about, he's crying for attention, and loving every minute of it. GOAT accepts my tuna, wants nothing to do with my attention, and finds my audacity to be at an all-time high for even considering it. So cheeky.

That sounds right.

So, see the pinned post on our page about these two cuties and tell your friends. They do NOT have to go together.

Goat and Potato are a medical surrender; their owner is no longer able to care for them and wants them to find new families to love them. They are 2, fixed, have shots and ARE siblings, but ARE NOT a bonded pair so they are NOT required to go together. They barely even like each other. If you or a family member are interested in either one, please DM for an application.

The DM's do not send a notification, for no particular reason, so you will receive a reply when able. Their individual information will be listed with their photographs (click the picture and read the description). This post will be updated if one or both of them are spoken for. If it's up, they are still available.

Adoption fee $25, Application required, unless another registered Foster/Shelter is willing to take them, in which case I will drop them off with supplies. Other cats, calm dogs, and kids are good for either animal, but both are very shy at first. Will need slow integration and calm support (expect it to take 3-6 weeks).

Educational post: Flea Anemia.

Flea anemia is a condition that can occur in kittens when fleas drain too much blood from their bodies, faster than it can be replaced. This can be especially dangerous for kittens because of their small size. If left untreated, flea anemia can be life threatening.

Signs of flea anemia include: Pale gums, Lethargy and weakness, Increased heart rate, Lack of appetite, and Weight loss.

To treat flea anemia, kittens will need: Fleas removed, Blood transfusions or blood substitutes, and Protection from further flea infestations.
