Caryn's Pet Care With over 20 years of pet care experience, Caryn's Pet Care provides pet sitting and dog walking services for families throughout the Triangle.

Planning your summer vacation and you're worried about boarding your furry, four-legged family member? I would be happy to pet sit your best friends in the comfort and safety of their own home. I have more than 20 years of pet care experience. My clients are dog and cat owners, with a guinea pig, fish or hermit crab included here and there. I understand that every family has unique needs and I am

able to customize my Pet Sitting and Dog Walking Services to best serve them. As a Pet Sitter, I can prepare special diets, administer medications, walk, groom, clean up after, play and of course, give lots of love and attention to your pets. Visits for dogs and cats can be during the day and scheduled once, twice or three times a day. This type of schedule works well for older pets and ones who are used to being on their own for a stretch of time. If a pet is young, has medical issues, or is just not used to being alone for long periods of time, an Overnight Stay may be best. For all of my clients, no matter the number of visits, I am happy to text you daily updates of your pet's activities. I also provide mid-day Dog Walking services every week day throughout the year for families who are located through out the Triangle. My rates are very reasonable and I can provide current client references upon request. Please contact me to schedule a meet and greet!

Did Hurricane Matthew stop me from doing my visits? No way!! And with dogs as clients, they didn't care if it was windy and pouring down rain - walks are always fun, especially when there are treats involved!

Love to visit old friends & it was great to see the once super shy Pitch, bravely claiming her space in the world! And her foster brother, Scooter the very playful kitten, is the one who can take a lot of the credit for helping her come out of her shell!

This does not surprise me one bit! Charlie is just like my two-legged kids (and my husband) -- they all know exactly what I am saying, but choose whether or not they want to listen!!!

Dogs understand both the meaning of words and the tone used to speak them, a new study finds.

Yay!! It's always a good day when we have new members to add to the Caryn's Pet Care family! Meet Ava, 11 yo, and Dynamite, 1.5 yo. They really look like their names, with personalities to match. Ava is the lovely diva with no patience for little boys, like Dynamite, who loves to play and wrestle. These two were a lot of fun to visit while their family was away!

June 18 was our Charlie's Gotcha Day! It was only a year ago, that he was skin and bones and sick with heartworms. Charlie is like a different dog now! He is healthy and happy and we love him to bits!

He slowly got used to all of the noises that there are when you live inside. He discovered that sleeping on a bed or a couch, preferably pressed against someone, is way more comfortable than the floor.

He conquered his fear of the kitchen floor and discovered the wonders of the garbage can! We now have one with a locking lid.

He also discovered the joys of counter surfing which only increased Charlie's passion for baked goods. He has eaten (with no ill effects, luckily) a pan of brownies, at least 3 loaves of bread, hot dog buns, about a of a pan of Nutella bars and chewed the lid off of 2 large jars of peanut butter! Since all tasty things are now up and away, he pulls the dish towel from the oven door and leaves that with, if reachable, the box of sandwich bags or the napkins by the front door to show us his disappointment that we went out without him!

He was shy and quiet at first. No more - his Airedale-ness has taken over -- and we wouldn't want him any other way!!!

I have never been one to turn down a challenge, so when one of my families asked me if I would be willing to bottle feed their baby genet at lunchtime, I first had to look up what a genet was!

I learned that the "small, catlike genet is extremely common in Africa. Nocturnal, secretive, and shy, the fox-size common or small-spotted genet has black marks on its face that give it the appearance of wearing a mask. The spots on the back of a genet’s coat are arranged in parallel lines and become elongated as they approach the tail, which has distinct black rings." It sounded so cool, I said that I would definitely be willing to help whenever needed.

For the past couple of weeks, I have been getting to know baby Savage. At first, he was only interested in his bottle and sleeping, just like any baby. As he grows, his diet has expanded as well. I did my first ever live feeding for Savage - goldfish and pinkies - gross but doable. Nowadays, he would much rather play than eat, zipping all aroud his multi level kennel, climbing up to my shoulder or hunting his toys!

He is very cute and really funny. I am so happy that I get to be part of his early days and look forward to getting to know Savage even better as time goes on!

This is our old friend, Spikey, whom we met Thanksgiving 2015. It was great seeing him again -- he's still super friendly, still loves his dinner and still is a big fan of treats!

It's always fun to welcome new families to CPC and this happy crew is no exception! There is Harley, a 14 yo Mini Pinscher, who is blind and nearly deaf, but does not let either slow her fiesty self down! Next is Piper, a 2 yo Chihuahua mix - she may be small, but her personality certainly isn't! 6 yo Zildjian is the totally cool cat that his name implies and there is Pearl, who at 4 yo, is very pretty, but also very shy. It was a pleasure sitting for these fur kids!
