We pulled this dog off of death row yesterday, and I think she had sensory overload upon arrival at my farm 😆. She was pretty comfortable with the cat, but was skeptical of the horses and the chickens. I’ve had this little girl less than 24 hours, and I am completely smitten with her! I pulled her with an adopter in mind so she is probably already spoken for but if that changes, we will be sure to let everyone know. For now, she will be hanging out with me getting some training so not only will she be super cute but she will also be very talented. Thanks to everyone who helped me get this girl outta jail.

An Easter miracle! 11 yo yard ornament Coco was just surrendered to us. After she broke loose twice this last week to come to my place, her owners realized it would be best to let her stay here. Now, the hard part; to figure out how bad her cancer is and hopefully find her a hospice foster where she can be an inside member of a family. For now, she is super happy in my barn kennel and very much enjoys meandering around the farm a couple times each day with me. She’s been the only pet her whole life so I need to assess her with other dogs and cats but first I gotta get her to the vet! I’ll call around tomorrow morning to see which of our three options can take her the soonest. If anyone wishes to sponsor some of her care please comment or private message.

It took us six months to find this girl a home but the home she now has was well worth the wait! Shout out to Suzanne for fostering Clover so long and aligning us with her new family. Grateful to Chris, Case, Yogi & Joann for inviting this chunky monkey into their hearts and home. Happy Tails Clover…never again will you feel forgotten.

This beautiful dog will NOT be contributing to the unwanted puppy problem! Thanks to donors, we offer a $10 copay program for low income Bullock County residents. Via the Alabama Animal Alliance Spay/Neuter Clinic, we have sterilized 13 dogs/cats so far this year and have another 7 scheduled yet this month! We will keep pushing this program for as long as we have the money to do so as it’s so very important!

Update - our 3 Muskateers have a rescue secured & will travel in a few weeks Just 7 weeks old and life has not been good to these boys…until today when we welcomed them into our care! We need fosters for these puppies. We also need to line up a receiver rescue for them in ~3 weeks after we get them healthy & ready for travel. Please share to help us find more receiver rescues that we can partner with for current and future puppies. We typically need to transfer to rescues that conduct adoptions as we rarely adopt out ourselves.

Ten of our pups were grateful to see us today, and I was grateful for volunteer Penny Johnson! We did the usual monthly grooming/preventatives plus 💩 scooping, dog walking and some living area upgrades. This chunky monkey shown here is always such a joy to visit. Truly I think she makes us as happy as we make her 💜. Thank you to all of you who donate, volunteer and share our posts.

Our little Dice man here had a great day last weekend. He went to a volleyball match where he soaked up endless attention in the stands and then was dubbed team mascott for the day. Afterwards he met his new momma and learned what the word ADOPTED means 🥰. Thanks to Ashley Garrison for fostering and facilitating this adoption.

Many of you have been concerned about Hercules, our 13yo pup who is 3 legged and lives on a tether 🙁. After much begging/whining/negotiating, Herc is spending the night with me and we will go to the vet in the morning to see just how near the end is for this guy . At this point I do not know if Hercules will have to go back to his owner as I didn’t even get that far. I’m just relieved to finally have permission to get Hercules checked out as he has a massive lump on his neck and seems to be deteriorating in general. So send prayers, well wishes and good vibes that Hercules will be able to truly enjoy however many days he has left. More to follow…

Our pups know we have lots of treats and they will work hard to get far more than they should. Rambo eventually took a toy but only after he exhausted every coercion tactic he had to get more cookies. THIS IS FOSTERING! A tender hearted child comforts a previously neglected puppy. Two hearts melt into one, and two innocent beings find comfort in one another. When rescue gets hectic and exhausting, I can just look at this pic and remember why I do what I do! Even when we are in a hurry, we do our best to give some individualized attention to the dogs that request that. We know each dog’s demeanor and what they most desire. Some want walks, some want treats and some want us to sit out butts down and stay a while!
