Our Story

Bijou Equestrian LLC was founded by lifelong equestrian and horsewoman Shelbi Siclari Heady in November of 2013. Shelbi has competed nationally alongside some of the most accomplished riders in the history of the sport. Shelbi is in pursuit of her 'r' judges card under the guidance of 'R' Judge Carol Molony in both Hunter and Hunter/Jumping Seat Equitation. She attended Pace University and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management to augment her extensive hands-on experience in all aspects of the hunter-jumper disciplines. Shelbi began riding at 6 years old where she learned the importance of proper horse care. She rode younger, inexperienced horses, as her career progressed, and prepared them to compete at the national level. Riding a variety of horses grew her talent for recognizing and developing young horses into national competitors. Shelbi rode and competed under the guidance of top professionals in the industry through her entire career. After the completion of her Junior years, she went to join JT Farm in South Salem NY as their barn manager under the guidance of professional Jimmy Toon. Shelbi has qualified for and ribboned at every National Horse Show since the start of her junior career in the hunters, jumper, and equitation. in 2006 she represented Zone II for Prix De States, and was invited to represent Zone II at the NAJYR Championship in 2007. She was invited to ride in the High Jr Jumpers at Syracuse International Horse show in 2006 and 2007 and came home in the top 3. Shelbi’s 20+ years of experience in the saddle, and more than 10+ years’ experience training from the ground, have allowed her to extend her natural ability and passion into a lucrative business.
