Wh**ey developed a large tumor in her throat and was gently let go to bird heaven today. When I left the vet they passed me her little foot prints. Very touching!

Last night “Hoppy” my favourite chook passed away. She lived a few years longer than predicted so she was a special girl!

Once again I lost another beautiful girl last night called Brownie. Usually a very strong independent girl but it seems that chooks have short lives. I thank her for all her she gave me and that was not only her eggs. RIP beautiful girl. Her sister was staying close to her yesterday.

After 21 days the first chickens arrived. The mum was not experienced and it had already lost one or pecked it too much that it died so the rest will be hand reared.
