💕It’s no secret that a new baby kitten will do a lot of crying when they are small. 💕

Sometimes, we may not always understand what they need when they do this. Here are a couple reasons why your kitten may be crying:

🩵Your kitten is lost or confused

🩵They are hungry

🩵They need to use the bathroom

🩵Your kitten may be in some pain

🩵They are feeling off or a little sick

There can be quite a few reasons they are crying, as it’s how they communicate with us. It’s important to make sure if you have checked them out to chat with your vet just to be sure if it happens longer than usual.

As the cold weather hits, it’s important we remember our furry friends and how we can keep them warm on their daily walks.

❄️ Don’t leave your dog outside for long periods of time when letting them out.

❄️Consider putting something on their feet to protect their paws.

❄️For small dogs, put a doggy coat on them.

❄️Check the temperatures before taking them out for a walk to ensure it’s safe.

❄️Gift them a Calmeroos that include a warm heating pack inside to cuddle up to after a cold walk.

Our furry friends can feel the cold temperatures just as we can, so it’s always important to keep them safe and warm as the temperatures drop. It’s not always safe to have them outside for long. 🥶

It’s that time of year again, with Thanksgiving, pumpkin patches and all the delicious treats…it’s pumpkin season. 🎃

So, what about our dogs getting to enjoy some of the pumpkin season treats?

🎃 We don’t recommend that you let your furry friends eat raw pumpkin, as the filling can be a choking hazard to them. However, pure pumpkin puree (cooked or canned) is a delicious treat for them and even has some health benefits to them.

🎃Make sure you aren’t feeding them pumpkin pie filling, or anything with additives that could harm them - it must be pure pumpkin.

🎃Pumpkin seeds are perfectly fine for them to eat as well, but make sure to keep an eye on them, to ensure they do not choke on any of the seeds.

🎃Always remember moderation based on the size of your dog. A very small breed shouldn’t have more than 1-2 teaspoons at a time.

🎃The fibre in pumpkin is a great source of fibre for your dog, if they are struggling with their digestive system.

🎃It’s best not to feed them the rind as this can also become a chocking hazard.

Pumpkin can be a great treat to include your dogs in for the upcoming pumpkin season, but it’s important to be cautious about what you are feeding them and how much.

If you are bringing home a new cat, or maybe struggling to keep your cat away from things in your home you may need to catproof your home. 🏠

Here are 5 ways we recommend you do this:

🐱Cover all your cords – Cats tend to find cords and think it’s a toy, and chew through some of our important cords and cables. It’s always a great idea to cover and hide any dangling or loose cords.

🐱Give away any toxic or poisonous plants – there is quite the list of houseplants that are considered toxic or poisonous to cats, especially if they begin to chew on them. It’s important to check on your plants to see if its cat safe and give away any of your plants that aren’t.

🐱Steady any heavy furniture – cats love to bounce around and jump all over furniture. The danger can come with wobbly furniture and then having them jump around which could lead to the furniture damaging or even falling on them. Make sure to anchor or steady any heavy furniture.

🐱Hide anything breakable – As cats love to climb and bounce around, our important objects can get caught in their playing, so it’s best to hide anything you don’t want dropped or accidently broken.

🐱Lock away any chemicals or cleaners – Similar to the plants being toxic, so many cleaners could harm our cats if they have access to it. It’s always best to lock away and cleaners or chemicals to prevent them from ingesting anything unsafe.

There are many ways we can keep our furry friends safe, but it’s always better to be cautious to allow them to feel at home and safe in their own space.💕
