Russ is a really sweet, non-intrusive, senior Jack Russell. He would love lots of attention but will not push; when given affection, he lights up, gives kisses and wants to be in your space. Because he is very non-confrontational, he is kinda picked on by a couple of terriers in his foster home. (He is passive and refuses to scrap - so he avoids all intimidations by backing away and yes, the terriers get in trouble.) He does well with the other dogs in foster; not cat tested. Russ does bark a bit much but mostly when you come home and he’s excited to see you; he’s a bit hard of hearing; a fenced yard is highly advised; hasn’t needed to be kenneled; laid back most of the time but does get jittery and nervous with change initially; wants to be right with his human while in the house (kinda gets under feet cuz he has to know what’s up); thinks he should help with cooking - ugh - and believes he is the official taste tester who likes broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, bell peppers (most any veggie); very treat oriented - gets waaaayyy too excited for a treat; has one of the sweetest JR personalities we have had in foster; happy, gentle-natured and devoted; gets excitable and active at times; a bit nervous during car rides but enjoys walks; can be a bit of a couch potato; a very handsome, senior gentleman! Russ would love to escape the terriers and live in a peaceful home where he is loved and not onguard all the dang time. An adult home or with older dog-friendly kids would be his dream come true. (No youngin’s as they stress him.) He has that “true companion” personality that can give you his full, undivided attention or settle in a chair across the room - depends on what his human wants. He’s always willing to let you know you are adored. Russ so deserves his own, peaceful home with people to love and who will love him! Let’s get this gentleman a home!

(Sorry - At this time, the dogs we have in rescue do not do well with small children.)
