🌞It’s a Virgil summer! 🌞

He recently discovered his love for the water and he is thriving! From swimming and playing fetch to observing nature, Virgil is a natural mer-man now ‘wading’ for his forever family.

At first sight, you are sure to be smitten with this super cute and beefy bulldog mix. Virgil is about five-years-old and weighs 55 pounds. He loves to play, get belly rubs, and show off his butt wiggle. His favorite toy is a Jolly Pets tug ball. He also has a funny way of turning meal time into fun time by batting around his Rolly Kong. He’s very food-motivated so training will be a snap.

As a dapper dude, he loves being brushed and having his MANicure. He is also a good traveler. He has been on outings and a few road trips so we know he’s a very pleasant and quiet co-pilot and loves smelling all of the new scents in the air. Although Virgil loves activity, he also has a lovely mellow side and enjoys quiet time.

History: For Virgil, time really does heal all wounds. Virgil is a champ, with resilience to overcome abandonment. A Good Samaritan brought him to a shelter, but he was never claimed, had no ID tag, and no microchip. He clearly didn’t feel loved and was very fearful when he arrived. Luckily, he was given time and tender loving care which gradually took effect. Now in foster, he is learning what a good, safe home life is all about. He now has a bouncy puppylike strut and each day more and more of his personality comes through!

Virgil needs an experienced person or family who will help him recognize how special he really is. He just needs time to know things are A-OK. With your gentle patience and time you will earn his trust. He attended a basic obedience class and his foster works with him daily. His adopter will need to continue building that confidence and direction.

Virgil is not fond of other dogs and must be the only pet. Fortunately, he provides all the companionship you’ll ever need. He’d be ok with older kids. Since he alerts you to noise, he is not good for apartment living or tight neighborhoods. Fenced yard and access to water is ideal!

This little chi mix wants a home so badly he’s sold his worldly possessions to pay for his own adoption fee 💕

Sammy is a 5-year-old, 15-pound male chihuahua mix with a mind of his own, yet still a sweet, low maintenance boy with simple needs. His goal in life is to find that perfect soul mate. He prefers to spend his days with just one human, lady or gent, who can appreciate his feisty and quirky nature.

Sammy enjoys running around the house and ensuring everything is in its place. He also likes to jump up on the couch or bed to snuggle. After a while he’ll jump down and then later jump back up and so on and so forth. However, he prefers to be the one to initiate cuddle fests.

He loves toys and is really good at amusing himself. His favorite pastimes include taking walks, going on car rides, and spending time in the yard. Of course, there’s always time for a nap.

Sammy would love someone who will let him be his own man, and allow him to eat and sleep in peace. Sammy thrives on comfort, trust, and predictability, attributes his dream person will provide.

‼️Have you seen this good boy?‼️

Meet Sparrow! He is a resilient 4-year-old male of medium build from Cranston, RI. He’s come a long way after being abandoned, but with staff, volunteers, and trainers working steadily and lovingly with him, he was able to shed much of his distrust of humans. Still wary when meeting new people, you’ll see what a loyal and loving dog he is once he gets to know you.

Sparrow is a match for outdoorsy people because he loves anything to do with being outside. Running, playing, hiking, or just hanging in the yard, fresh air seems to feed his soul. No surprise that he is at home in the cold, snowy weather. He ’s also a good traveler and good on leash.

Two dedicated volunteers work with him for several hours daily. He is very smart and eager to learn. He enjoys boisterous playtime with other dogs and would love a compatible sibling. Sparrow still needs confidence building and would thrive with a doggy role model who has a steady presence.

Sparrow has been in the shelter for more than a year and is most deserving of a loving home. Imagine being cooped up for days on end and you’ll understand why Sparrow is anxious and reactive when inside his kennel. Each day, Sparrow moves further away from his past, but he still needs a patient, experienced adopter who will give him all the time he needs to feel secure.

Sparrows ideal family will give him:
✅A daily routine with adequate outdoor time and exercise.
✅Time to adjust to a new environment
✅A calming adult-only home without kids or cats
✅A compatible canine sibling
✅A large fenced yard or lots of land to run

In return, he will be a loving and loyal friend to enjoy the great outdoors with.

This special Norwegian Elkhound grew up without a chance to be a regular dog. Super smart, he is working hard in a 6-wk course, but the true factor for success is having an adopter ready to bring him home after graduation! 🎓
