Our Animal Welfare team and Herts Police have launched an appeal to find the owner of an elderly dog who was found walking down a main road in Tring.
The dog which has a severe eye condition and a large mass on her abdomen was found by a passing police officer who took her to a local vets. She was found at the side of the main road leading through Cowroast, Tring on Tuesday 17 June at around 9.30am.
The dog, currently being cared for by our Animal Welfare team, is microchipped but it appears this has not been kept up to date.
Our Animal Welfare Officer said: ‘She is such a lovely and friendly dog, despite her current serious medical condition. It is unlikely that she has walked far due to her mobility restrictions and I think it’s more likely that she has been left at the location. We are asking local residents to check their ring doorbells and review any CCTV for that morning to try and identify where this lovely lady has come from."
We are asking for the owner to come forward or if anyone recognises the dog and is able to provide information about who she belongs to please email the Animal Welfare Team in confidence, quoting ref ECP942202 on [email protected]
