Shadow Shadow The Rescue Cat On June 27th, 2013 during a heat wave with temps topping 118 degrees. As I approached the kitten again, it didn't move!

Coming back from lunch I saw something black on the ledge that goes around the building at the bottom. I put my truck in reverse, got out and started to walk to the black thing... seeing it was a very small kitten, I went back to my truck for water. I just kept saying to myself, "please don't be dead, please don't be dead!" The kitten barely raised his head and let out a very weak hiss and then pu

t his head down again. I went into the building and got a box, cut some air holes in it and headed outside. As I picked the kitten up by the scruff, there was a burst of energy and he was in the box. I put calls out to my husband and my daughter. We decided to bring the kitten home, but as soon as the heat was over he would join the doorstop cats...

It is with The Heaviest Heart that I must share the news of Shadow passing away this morning 😭😭😭

I would like to Thank All of You for following Shadow over the years. ❀️❀️❀️

Shadow's family is feeling this loss very deeply. His humans are watching his feline brother and sister closely and his K9 sister.

We do know that Shadow is now with his human Dad in heaven as well as his feline brother, Charlie. πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”πŸ’”

As a final act I will ask that you hug all your babies tight tonight, both human and Critters ❀️❀️❀️

Shadow was a true feral, that I found 11 yrs ago at my work. Our Vet put him at about 5 weeks old.

So if you would like to do something in his name, please find a no kill shelter in your area and give whatever you can.

As for our family, we grieve this loss as he was part of our family. But we will continue to look after the ferals in our neighborhood, continue TNR and feed them, as we have been doing for 25+ yrs.

First, I'm so thankful my Mom saw me 10 1/2 yrs ago and was the type of human that just opens her heart and home to us that need it.

Second, I'm thankful for my human sister, shhh, don't tell Mom, but she spoils me when Mom isn't around 😽
