Just a Pom & a pittie in the city! Dogs of different sizes can make the best of friends! Faye & Adam are both super friendly dogs, but their size & play styles mean that we have to be proactive to set them up for success.
How do we do it?
1. Understand your dogs’ needs & play styles & make sure the other dogs’ person knows theirs.
2. Start off with lots of space on nice long leashes, which gives both dogs the opportunities to decide whether they want to play or need some space.
3. Monitor & manage! The bigger dog may want to play, but can overwhelm the smaller & the smaller dog may want to play, but take on more than they can handle. You may need to step in & maven the dogs from themselves even if they’re both being playful.
4. Take it slow. These videos were not all taken the same day. But look at the adorable end result!
P.S. Check out Adam & Marie Antoinette in The Queen of Versailles on Broadway!
