As those that follow us know, Ms Carli was diagnosed with kidney disease in January. Research states the average life span after diagnosis is about 264 days. We knew we caught it very early with Carli but also know she is a senior dog with epilepsy, so how her body would handle this is unknown. I was told that being it was early we would wait 6 months to check her numbers again and at some point we would be checking more frequently until decisions needed to be made. There is no cure and the only treatment has been specialty food, she isn’t at the point of needing fluids injected. We’ve done the food for 6 months and just had her re-check and are over the moon that her numbers have only slightly changed and we don’t even have to re-check for another 6 months, but most importantly Car is healthy, happy, energetic and still has her same quality of life!
