Hi everyone!!! Long time no see, right? So, let me catch you up........(This will be a long post so sorry, but I want to let you all know where I disappeared to)
As you probably guessed, I did finally close the business. My heart was just not in it anymore because of the loss of one of my dogs. I said good bye to my beautiful 5 year Pointer over a year ago, due to severe seizures. I lived this nightmare for a year and then at 3 AM one morning even the vet could not snap her out of a grand mal. Needless to say I took this very hard. She was not only my buddy but was my up and coming superstar for agility and obedience and all the other dog sports out there. So for the past year it has just been 12 year old Darcy and me. We have spent many many mornings at the local dog beach. We go early and there is a wonderful group of people with their dogs that go every day too. Darcy gets to play and run, I get to spend time with friends and heck, I am at the beach!!! When not at the beach I poured all my energy into continued renovations on the house. My house has been renovated from top to bottom over the last few years, and there are still projects left. But I needed that distraction and physical work. I admit I can still tear up at the drop of a pin, but I am at peace with everything that happened.
Because dogs have been my world for most of my life, I want to still share my experiences and knowledge with you. Teaching and caring for dogs is in my bones and I just cannot say good bye to that. I kind of run informal training sessions on the beach walks as there are several new puppies that have joined us. So my thinking is to keep this page going and share that knowledge with you. I am hoping to do some training videos, share my dog's evolution to a more natural and raw diet, talk about my experiences with herbals and homeopathics, talk about dog sports, share photos of dogs just having fun on the beach, or whatever you want.
I also still have a good amount of inventory left, so I may even "garage sale" some of those to you at my cost (before Covid hit and prices went sky high).
So here I am!! Please share your thoughts with me about what you would like from me. In the meantime I will leave you with a photo of Darcy from the beach this morning and one with her new Border Collie puppy friend from last Friday. Darcy is also a great trainer and it is fun to watch the puppy emulate her. When I ask Darcy to sit, the puppy does too, after seeing Darcy do it....talk about shaping behavior!!
PS: the tire tracks you see from the photo of Darcy this morning are from turtle patrols ATV. It is sea turtle nesting season and wow so many were there from overnight. I have also gotten to know the turtle patrol guys and gals and love learning from them. I hope I get to see some of the babies hatch and make their way to the ocean.
