The “swift action” taken by dog wardens from Louth County Council helped to “avert the dangers” posed to residents by dangerous dogs running loose in a Dundalk estate, according to a local councillor.

In 2025 DAFM gave just under 6 million to animal charities.

But what you didnt know is on top of the government funding of 98 million to horse and greyhound racing the dafm gave an additional 2.22 million to Sport Horse Ireland.

They also gave almost 1 million to Animal health ireland and a whopping €7,509,239 in direct funding to the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF) in 2024.

DAFM provided €5,993,558 to animal welfare charities in 2024, according to the Minister for Agriculture, Martin Heydon.

The shanonside father son duo got minimal fines and the DAFM dropped several of the charges they publicly boasted would be taken against shanonside.
What a shower of gutless ???...
On another note:
Am I the only one concerned that if a horse that is farmed for slaughter takes pain killers they can't be used for human consumption?
This encourages those using horses that will eventually be used as meat, to not provide pain killers to a horse in need!!
Come on lads... ireland is an absolute sh****le with its fcked up backward laws.

This opinion might not be popular, but im going to write it anyway......
Well done for the Ispca for saving dogs from a Ukrainian immigrant who thought it was normal to breed dogs in such a state.

Disgusted the ISPCA killed several of the dogs saved.
3 collie pups were killed because they were feral.
The idea of "rescue" is to "save" and "rehabilitate" animals.
Killing puppies because they are feral is unacceptable.
