Happy International Dog Day 🐶🐾❤️

I was listening to a podcast today and this was said 'A dog shouldn't just be fed and walked round the block, a dog should be allowed to be a dog' -

A simple passing comment you might think but actually each breed have their own natural instincts, how many of you know your breeds ancestory, how many of you know what really makes your dog tick. Dogs need to explore, to sniff, to hunt, chase, to socialise, to bark and we need to help them fulfil those needs in a safe and controlled way. You will notice a huge difference in your dogs behaviour if you stop supressing your dogs needs and work together as a team to include these things into your training or play time its also the best way to build a bond, a happy dog makes for a happy owner 🐶🐾

🐾 Is your dog constantly scratching or nibbling at their paws?

Harvest mites - also known as chiggers - might be to blame!
These tiny orange pests are active from August to November and are commonly picked up during walks in rural areas. You might spot them as orange dots or dust, especially between your dog’s toes or on their lower legs.

While harvest mites aren’t usually serious, they can cause intense itching and lead to secondary infections if left untreated. They can also affect cats and even humans.
