With 28 years of experience pet sitting and over 19 years as a veterinary technician, Greer Glazer a.k.a. Mama Bear, has devoted her life to caring for animals and their people. Dubbed "a friend to all animals" since the early years, Greer mostly walked dogs with her first business Precious Pet Care in the 1990's. Now in the 2010's, she focuses her skills on doing housecalls for kitties on fluids

or those needing other in-home nursing care, and on pet sitting for animals needing medication while their owners are away. In her free time, Greer volunteers as a triager for Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation. She has 3 cats, all rescues (two were TNR's!) including one feral cat named Emrys who no longer lives under the bed. The other two, Louie and Mudra are both FIV+ and grace this page as our avatar. This page is devoted to Mama Bear's clients and their pets. Service area includes the north and northwest sides of Chicago, including Evanston, Skokie, etc.

Hi everyone! Hope you’re enjoying your summer! I’ve been enjoying more cuddles with my black cat (ex bottle baby) Figg, as she matures and comes back to wanting loving after focusing only on play until recently! She is 4 now!

I’m offering single daily visits for cats along the Northshore- anywhere north of about Highland Park but don’t be shy about reaching out if you are just outside my service area. I’ll take clients up through Zion and as far west as Libertyville.

As a reminder, my services include cat sitting (hour long visits), Nail Trims, and simple grooming like taking off matts or sanitary trims. I also am an ex-tech and offer nursing visits including giving SQ fluids, injections, and pills.

If your cat requires two people to give medication, I will do my best to find help or I can work with you or another pet sitter.

Greetings everyone! It’s been a long time. I hope all of you are healthy and staying safe during this uneasy time.

So many things have changed since I last posted. Some of my favorite kitties have crossed the bridge, including 2 of my own. I love and miss you Georgie Girl, Malibu, Hunter, Matey, and I’m sure there are others, I apologize if I’ve missed or was unaware of.

And I just lost Tiny to complications from FIV. 😥 I lost Bear the ex-feral in November. And we lost their brother Louie the year before. So that is the end of an era for me. I’m heartbroken. 💔

On the positive side, I adopted a new kitten named Figg in December! She was a kitten from a litter Lora was fostering since 3 weeks old when they lost their mom, and I was blessed to help her with a few bottle feedings a week. Needless to say, Figg and I formed a strong bond, and the plan pretty early on (in October) was to adopt her. But the timing didn’t work out that way, and the adoption didn’t happen until December. I’m just sad Bear never got to meet her- he would have loved her! She is wonderful and sweet, funny, and a tough cookie. 😍

In other news, I moved to Waukegan and I know many of you may have questions about my availability. I am still serving my regular clients in the city. I have not been taking new clients in the city but may do so during this isolation period if there is anyone in need. I am now taking clients in Lake County and anywhere along highway 41/94 north of Peterson (subject to change, probably to Old Orchard or Dempster). Please tell your friends in the northern suburbs about my services! Thank you so much! 🐈🐾

I appreciate all of my clients and their wonderful furry family they share with me! You know I fall in love with each and every one, and I see them all as distinct individuals- I’ve never met two cats or two dogs that were exactly alike. That’s why I will continue to take care of my established clients and their kitties indefinitely (with a little back up help from some great people from time to time)! I have no plans to suspend service to Chicago anytime soon. 💕

I am available to any of you who are traveling in the coming weeks. Please send me a text, email, or Facebook message to schedule your petsitting dates, or just to say hi and give me an update on your kitties. New clients please allow an extra couple of days to schedule a meet n greet. 🐾

Look at how the bottle babies have grown! They are thriving in foster care at the Nursery de Lora!! This is my favorite age. 7 weeks tomorrow. And without a mama (and remembering who fed them their bottles) they are much more comfortable with humans and a little needier (translation: super affectionate, wants to be on your lap or shoulders, and with lullaby strong motor!) than normal babies. If you want a sweet little lover kitty, apply to adopt through PAWS - we will let you know when they are ready!

The Nursery de Lora is full! I’m so grateful to come in and feed bottle babies while Lora is at work! I’m also feeding and playing with a litter of 10 week olds. No moms for either litter. Thank goodness there are special loving people like Lora in the world who step in and save the day when tragedy happens! These babies very recently lost their mom. We are giving them lots of love and they are coming around and starting to get plump. Fosters are The Best!! ❤️
