Meet Iris! This sweet little bundle of personality is a 32 lb shepherd mix (we think with corgi) and is 2 years old. Iris has been an incredibly well mannered house guest with her foster family. She's completely house trained. Iris is also crate trained and sleeps through the night. She sits like a champ and walks well on a leash. Oh, and her ears are amazing!

Iris loves to go for walks and hikes. She loves wearing her harness and eagerly hops into her crate in the car to go on adventures. When not busy with the yard or adventures, Iris is always ready for her other passion...cuddling her humans on the couch (and snoring a little as she sleeps). She eagerly watches for us to hop on the couch, and jumps up excitedly just to find a comfortable lap.

Iris spends most of her day sleeping on the couch or cuddling with the other dogs in her foster home. She loves to meet new people and most dogs, and is great with the kids in her foster home, especially the teenage son. Sometimes female dogs are a bit iffy, and she has a tiny bit of resource guarding around other dogs, but only with very strongly preferred food or items. This can be easily managed by separating dogs for feeding (which we recommend for all dogs anyway). We think she'd do best in a house with a male dog pal or as an only dog. Iris is not a fan of cats.

Muffin is an adorable little scruffy girl who was rescued from an awful hoarding situation. We don't think she had a lot of human interaction before being rescued. Muffin is sweet and gentle but is very timid and takes a while to warm up to people. She is looking for a patient and loving family who will allow her to come out of her shell at her own pace. She LOVES being with other dogs.

Muffin is a Terrier mix who is 4 years old and 20 lbs.She is learning how to be part of a family and her fur buddies are showing her the ropes. She will do best in a home with another confident dog to help continue to build her confidence.
Muffin is doing a great job with house training and crate training. A quiet adult home will be best as the noise and activity of children make her nervous. A fenced yard is required for this sweet little lady. We know she will be a great addition to the right family. 💕

Shiloh is an adorable and sweet 4.5 month old female puppy! She weighed in at 23lbs at a recent vet appointment. Our best guess is that she will be around 40-50 lbs fully grown.

Sweet Shiloh has been great with the resident dog in her foster home. She is doing well with learning the ropes of house training. She is puppy pad trained and uses them if she needs to go while inside. Shiloh is new to leash walking and is a little unsure right now but with practice and positive reinforcement we know she will get the hang of it quickly.

Introducing Bibbles, a 2 year old Poodle/Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix! He is 15 lbs and good with dogs, cats and kids.

Bibbles is the most adorable little teddy bear, ready to find his forever home. He is working on house training and crate training so he’ll need to continue on a regular routine while he perfects his skills.

Bibbles absolutely loves his person and wants to be close by. He would benefit from a home where someone is home most of the time. He gets along with other dogs, cats and kids, but would also do fine being the center of attention in his new home.

Bibbles really enjoys his walks and does very well on a leash. He does have food allergies and has had testing done. This is being managed with foods and treats appropriate for him. ADOPTION PENDING!

Just in time for Saint Paddy’s meet Molly, the good luck charm you have been dreaming of. She is a 14 week old Maltese mix (on her mother’s side, dad is unknown), and currently just under 9lbs. Molly has fantastic, soft, and wild hair in the loveliest shades of cream, brown, and black. She is sure to have amazing markings as she grows. She is a playful and sweet pup, who loves toys, but truly her favorite is just sitting in the toy bin and chewing a bone.

Molly is an overnight rockstar in her crate and for her puppy naps during the day. She is currently puppy pad trained and doing great learning to go outside. New to a leash and harness, Molly is doing great learning to go on walks and is very happy to trot along side you in the yard or house off leash. She is good with other dogs, cats, children, and even chickens.

Molly is looking for a home that will help her finish her good girl training out and give her lots of both lap and playtime. If you are looking for that springtime companion to get out and enjoy the weather, or cozy up under a blanket on a rainy day, she has it all!

Adoption pending!

Meet Maeve! This sweet and silly 14 week, Maltese mix (unknown what dad was) female, will make an incredible addition to most any household. She is currently almost 9 lbs.

Maeve sleeps overnight in her crate and for all her puppy naps throughout the day. At the moment she is puppy pad trained and doing great learning to go outside. She just recently went for her first walk on a leash, and while she will need some work and positive reinforcement, did really well.

Maeve’s disposition is very sweet and snuggly, she loves to follow along wherever you go and loves to snuggle up and give hugs. Maeve does great with dogs, cats, children, and even chickens!

If you don't mind a dog whose tail won't stop wagging--who loves your companionship--who enjoys walks and toys--who rocks and rolls with his resident canine buddies, then Jerry is the dog for you. Jerry is a two-year-old Lab/terrier mix. He weighs 57 pounds and his fur reminds his foster parents of the color of butterscotch pudding with dabs of whipped cream.

Jerry was a staff favorite at a rural shelter before Almost Home Dog Rescue provided a foster family for him.

Jerry seems to be housetrained as he has been accident-free in his foster home. He likes to show off how well he sits and then gently takes a treat! He'd love to celebrate the arrival of spring with a forever family by watching the Phillies on TV (with some serious snuggling included) and then playing a little catch after the game--a fenced-in yard would be heaven for him.

Looking for a great family-friendly dog that is good with kids?! We have many who are already house trained even. We have big and small pups that fit the bill.

Paxton - black lab/terrier mix, just under 1 year old, around 70lbs, house trained, mild energy for his age, walks well on leash and very sweet and gentle

Marley - 6 years old old Chi mix, 25 lbs who is pure couch potato and lap ornament, house trained and the most sweet and snuggly little guy

Bella - 8 year old Pug mix, 20 lbs, house and crated trained, walks very nicely on leash, very sweet girl

Meet a very adorable and extremely snuggly 6 year old Chi mix. Marley is around 25 lbs and is a neutered male. He wants nothing more than someone to love, follow around the house and be a couch potato with.

Marley was an owner surrender due to no fault of his own. He LOVES people and affection so we know this must be a lot of change for him but he is handling it in stride! He is currently in a foster home with 6 (yes 6 and all bigger) other dogs and has been fine with them. He would likely enjoy a slightly more low key house but has been a great sport. He would love a home with someone there a lot of the time since quality time with pets from his humans is his love language.

Marley seems to be a homebody and likes to do a lap to casually sniff in the yard and then hang out on the couch with people for the day. He will go on a walk fine but will be a little jumpy with loud noises. He has been in his foster home for a short time but seems potty trained and has been a very easy house guest.

Foster or foster-to-adopt needed for Teddy!

Teddy is a male German Shepherd/King Shepherd mix. He is around 8 years old and 105 lbs. Teddy's owner is getting deployed and didn't have a place for him to go so he was surrendered to a shelter.

Teddy is house-trained and is not destructive at home. He spends much of his day lazing around, but does enjoy a good squeaky toy.

Teddy is a social fellow and is interested in meeting humans and dogs nearby when on a walk. He absolutely loves meeting new people, getting chest rubs, and, of course, sneaking a chance to beg for human food. Teddy has been fine when introduced to other dogs.

We are in need of 2 fosters to take 2 each of these adorable little girls. They are 11-12 weeks old. The mom is a Maltese / poodle mix and dad is unknown.

These puppies are not currently available for adoption. They are only available to be fostered at this time.
