Hey everyone so I realised I haven’t posted for a while. Thought I’d give a little update as to the s**t show 2025 has been to date 😂. Hopefully it’ll explain a few things 🙈Firstly thank you to all of you wonderful people who have been so helpful when I have had to try and reschedule appointments recently. Some of you may know I have been undergoing diagnostics and treatment for an autoimmune skin condition that affects mainly my face for the last few years . Recent biopsies suggested skin cancer but fortunately that has been proven wrong in the last week and I have another diagnosis that I am undergoing further tests and treatments for. this has meant I’ve had to reschedule appointments to make hospital visits and blood tests so I thank you all for being so accommodating. I’ve also had various vet visits to my own horses to deal with along with family illness and sadly a funeral to come later in March.
I think for many the last couple of years has certainly thrown some curveballs but 2025 is outdoing the lot 😂
So it shouldn’t have come as a surprise for my Medium regionals to have been an absolute disaster. Noushka had most of January off due to a puncture wound deep into her frog. Ben and Roland and the team were incredibly helpful, poulticing everyday and being there for the vet visits when I could be. I finally managed to have a half dozen schooling sessions leading upto the regionals, but her way of going wasn’t as good as it had been prior to the injury.
She warmed up well but I could tell she was getting would up by the flies. Definitely too late to put on a fly veil so I had to just go with it. So the canter centre line felt great. The initial halt was great. Then we stepped up into the trot and I just felt her fall straight behind my leg. I spent the whole test panicking and trying to chase her around the arena 😂 and then the whole walk sequence she jogged and shook her head to get away from the flies which was hugely expensive and we came away with our worst score to date. To say this has massively dented my confidence which was already fragile would be an understatement and I’m questioning whether I should really be competing at this level but I’m lucky I have a supportive team of family, friends and trainers around me so I’ll pick myself up and crack on with the training .
So for now it’s over and out and hopefully my next post will be a more positive one 😂
P.s even the photographer didn’t managed to get a decent shot of the test so here’s one of her looking angelic before we went down the centre line. To add I was t smiling like this by the end of the test 😂😂😂

Wow congratulations! Alison, Kate and Thomas! Fantastic day. Proud physio ❤️👏🏼👏🏼🤩🏆🏆

Lovely read about how young dressage horses should be produced/ nurtured

Starting young horses with Ulf Möller:
“There are different ways of starting in young horses. Some people like to lunge them a lot, and get them balanced before they ride them, I prefer to break them in early and then put them back in the field and bring them back as four-year-olds in the autumn. I find they don’t forget anything.”
