Last week we had our first in person meeting at Youth/Midsummer Nationals with around 50 Young Professionals in attendance. The general consensus of our meeting (along with talk around the show with other trainers, clients, and parents) is that YN/MSN should be a shorter show (one week would be ideal) with a more exciting and condensed schedule that focuses on the youth.

Our possible solutions are
-Combine Choice/Elite for Amateurs and possibly Youth
-Eliminate Open and Junior Horse Classes
-Amateurs only having leveling class not age group
-No Finals on the first day
-Reverse Scottsdale Schedule with Youth classes at the end of show
-Bring academy classes back into YN schedule
- Making the show more of Youth National Championship featuring Midsummer champion classes by placing the Amateur classes 1st-8th eliminating the Top Ten awards and victory passes.

I would like to open the discussion for feedback as we look deeper into the schedule to see if our possible solutions could become a reality.

Hi everyone! My name is Kayleigh Meyer and I've been appointed the Director of the new APAHA Young Professionals Subchapter. For those of you that don't know me, I am a trainer at a semi-private farm in Michigan that specializes in training, breeding, showing, and marketing English Arabians, Half Arabians, and Saddlebreds. I have been in the Arabian Horse industry for over 20 years and I am very passionate in the growth of our breed. I am excited for this new venture and I can't wait to see what we can accomplish together!

The goal of this subchapter is to provide networking opportunities, educational resources, and collaborative initiatives to support the growth and promotion of the Arabian Horse breed. Our mission is to empower the next generation of industry leaders through mentorship, innovation, and a shared passion for these exceptional horses.

If you are or know of a horse trainer in the Arabian industry under the age of 40, send me a message to be added to our private discussion group. 734-808-1982
